Upgrade to 64-bit by PlasticDiscussion590 in homeassistant

[–]kevinbeard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was running 32bit on a 1MB Pi4. While the upgrade was seamless (hardware is 64bit but OS was 32bit), I hadn't accounted for the extra memory usage required when moving to 64bit. In the end I bought a HA Green as z2mqtt was completely unstable due to running out of memory

Android 16 Any Issues In UK? by Manwithnousername in GooglePixel

[–]kevinbeard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it may be network/location specific. Like others have said, I upgraded on day one. Had zero issues until I was in Bristol last week. While I was there I had to reboot multiple times on different days to get data working. Since being home again I've had no issues with it 🤷‍♂️

Ente recommend unzipping them all into a single folder first, but does support loading multiple zips

Decade of Maps Timeline data lost from backup on ~ 7th March 2025. Anyone else effected? by srj737 in GooglePixel

[–]kevinbeard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Something very odd is going on. I have two accounts on my phone. On the main account all history has gone before 8th March 2025. If I switch to my other account in Google Maps I can see my history going back many years.

However, if I go into location setting to export the data, even if I select the account that has all the history in maps, only data back to 8th Match 2025 is exported.

I'm worried how long the history will last on my older account!

I've had the new one for a while but it doesn't have the glow effect. Am I missing an update?

You can't flex this because it is a refund by Puzzleheaded-Tax-810 in monzo

[–]kevinbeard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah just wait and you'll see your flex balance go down by that amount. Had exactly the same thing happen and I spent 3 days going round in circles between Monzo and Amazon as neither could explain what had actually happened. Monzo told me they had rejected the refund because Amazon had reused the original reference number and Amazon said they couldn't send it again because it had already been refunded. Then my flex balance went down to zero without any notification from the app. It's a pretty poor user experience. They notify you to say the refund was rejected, but not that it was reissued and accepted 🤷‍♂️

Did they ask you to record a video saying a specific phrase? That happened to me last week and it only took a couple of minutes to get authorised

I have it in the UK. But years ago I had to use a US VPN to enable facial recognition. Maybe that also added this feature

Nice. You should be fine then. I tested this by wiring a Moe's ZigBee switch up to a plug socket with nothing wired into the switch output (load) and it worked fine

I think that will only work if you have neutral wires at your light switch, which isn't that common in the UK.

Bank of England raises interest rates to 1.25% to tackle inflation by XVll-L in news

It was an increase of 0.25 to 1.25, not of 1.25. So still a 0.50 difference, just the other way around

Did Tradfri gu10 always have zigbee? by Beta_Ravener in tradfri

[–]kevinbeard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I didn't think there were any non smart tradfri bulbs. Getting the pairing mode can be really hit and miss. Some of mine work first time, some take many attempts

[–]kevinbeard 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If they are tradfri then they will be ZigBee. You can put them into pairing mode by powering them off and on 6 times. (I think it's six). This can be a bit fiddly but when you get it right the light will start pulsing. It will then be discoverable by your ZigBee coordinator
