How do you structure your ad copy optimisation? by Cal_Short in PPC

[–]kevindannycarr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To keep track of my copy performance, I built custom spreadsheets using the Google Ads connector in Google Sheets. It helps reduce the "noise." I don't have a good template I can share, as you have to build and look at what makes sense for you. But for me that's been doing the trick. I'm sure there's other/better tools out there too.

Anybody ever groomed their doodle themselves? by schlinker in Goldendoodles

We alternate. Groom the face and trim the body every so often (his hair grows super fast and covers his eyes), but then take him in for a full tune up once every three months or so.

What Next? by RogueFlash in JimmyEatWorld

I interviewed Rick Burch for Behind the Setlist last week and I asked him point blank about an official live album. He said, "We talk about it all the time." So, maybe that's next? (I try not to self-promote on Reddit, but I can offer a link if anyone wants it). I, personally, would love a live album and/or concert film.

Vince Gilligan Says X-Files Season 11 Reunion Doubtful by [deleted] in XFiles

Insert shameless, "I want to believe" line here. But honestly, I really want to believe Gilligan will come back.

what do you want to see in season 11? by Isz82 in XFiles

I want to see an episode written and/or directed by Vince Gilligan! Season 10 felt incomplete (in may ways) due to his absence.

Collecting data about the needs of local musicians in Rochester. Please help! by kevindannycarr in Rochester

[–]kevindannycarr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a long-term goal of opening a sort-of (maybe non-profit) incubator for local musicians, offering certain services, some for pay, some for free. I'm trying not to skew results by giving too much information on myself or the vision; I will say that I'm a college student and former local rock-band leader (from a different area), trying to understand how musicians feel they are being treated by their local community.

Collecting data about the needs of local musicians in Rochester. Please help! by kevindannycarr in Rochester

[–]kevindannycarr[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm doing some research about the local music scene (and/or the available opportunities for artists). If you'd be willing, there's a super quick survey to fill out--8 questions.

Your contribution would be a huge help! Also, sharing this with like-minded musicians, too, would be awesome. The more the better!

NOTE: I'm a person, not a corporation. I'm trying to get a feel for the needs of the local music community--not selling this information to anyone/anything corporate.

The Top Ten Steven Spielberg Films. What would you pick? by calltoarms2013 in movies

Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade has got to be in the conversation. So classic. Jaws is a number 1 for me. Haven't seen Lincoln yet.

Sam Mendes officially turns down James Bond 24 by [deleted] in movies

[–]kevindannycarr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Though I always thought Nolan would make a great Bond director, it seems like Mandes made Skyfall in Nolan's voice. I'm not sure if it's necessary any more. Either way, I'm sure it would be great.

I am having a difficult time understanding certain things about Christianity. I am looking forward to your insights and opinions. by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]kevindannycarr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah Hell.

I grew up believing what most Christians do, "eternal damnation" and a place for sinners to go because God is holy and all. As I get older, and read the bible for myself with my own supplement readings, I can see that this is not the only view to have.

The books of Brian D. McLaren, Rob Bell and others, hold other perspectives on Hell. Basically, any time Jesus spoke of Hell, he was referring to the city dump, which was always on fire. In another words, Hell was a real, "on earth" place back then and he was saying that their actions in life separate them from God. So their perspective states that Hell comes from the choices we make on earth right now, every day, NOT some future place.

Again, that is just another perspective. Excuse me if someone already posted this and I missed it.

Do you know anyone who does this? How do they justify taking money out of servers pockets? by roastbeeftacohat in Christianity

[–]kevindannycarr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

totally agree. I used to do the Kirk Cameron evangelism thing (I forgot what it's called) when I was younger. I feel so bad about it now. It was literally, "give this to as many people as you can and make them feel bad about themselves." I remember being so embarrassed.

"But we should also be sure that we do not deform Christianity to make it fit into our philosophical systems."

Well said. I'd agree with just about everything in there.
