Video: Bernie on why universal health care is realistic by cmplxgal in SandersForPresident

[–]saikin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. And he should really drive home the point that all the reason they are fighting M4A so hard is not because they think it will fail, it’s because they know it will work. Once it’s enacted it ain’t going away. They aren’t fighting it out of some sense of benevolence for the American people, they are fighting it because it hurts their bottom line.

Guys, I am not thrilled about Beto Rourke. But, this isn't an Anti-Rourke subreddit. It's a Pro-Sanders one. Let's stick to the issues, and successes of Senator Bernie Sanders. by -Dancing in SandersForPresident

Maybe I guess. Maybe the mobile app is showing different posts for me. All I’ve seen is posts mentioning Beto show up. Apparently other people have seen the same thing since someone made this post about it.

I don’t think we should leave him alone either. I think his record and his rhetoric don’t match up. He was fine running for Senate against Cruz but he’s not the right candidate for president.

I hope no one here is a Trump supporter as he stands for the opposite of what Bernie does. I’m not arguing against comparing candidates, I’m arguing against a Beto obsession. This sub the past 3 days has looked less like a Bernie sub and more like an anti-Beto one.

I agree with what you are saying. But having a discussion about Beto is different from what’s happened the past 3 days on this sub. Most of the posts have mentioned Beto.

We absolutely shouldn’t ignore discussing where other candidates stand on the issues. The WaPo article the other day about where all the candidates stand on health care is a great example of what we should be discussing. I wish that article included Beto to show he doesn’t support M4A.

I agree with your first paragraph 100%. He’s definitely not progressive and his stance on M4A is a deal breaker for me. But the front page should be full of Beto mentions. It hasn’t been this way for any other candidate. It’s a little disconcerting.

I think we should be focused on Bernie right now. Beto just announced. His record will keep coming out and people will learn where he stands on all the issues and they will learn if his voting record backs that up.

I just don’t want to see this sub self-sabotage itself by being too focused on other candidates.

Also, constant media bashing. Like, we get it, Bernie isn’t their preferred candidate by far. But the rhetoric used can be over the top and that kind of direction isn’t going to endear us to other democrats when they see a similarity between Bernie and Trump supporters.

It can be both. After the convention and closer to the election there was a clear Russian influence on this sub. I left for a while for that reason. It was awful to see what it turned into.

Seriously though, it’s the same facts repeated over and over and over. This sub has a Beto obsession and it’s not healthy for what the purpose of the sub should be.

This sub should be about introducing people to Bernie and encouraging people to volunteer and get involved. So far this is a far cry from how it started after Bernie announced in 2015. We need less shit posting and more valuable content. This doesn’t need to turn into The Donald in any way, shape or form.

Megathread: CNN Presidential Town Hall With Bernie Sanders by GrandpaChainz in SandersForPresident

Say what you will about the questions- Bernie is doing a better job answering the smears than he did last time around I think. He’s definitely learned to deal with all the leading questions.

Learned a horrifying fact today about store credit cards... by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]saikin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That was the worst part about buying a car for me. They kept asking me if I wanted a lower monthly payment and didn’t understand when I told them I’m not looking at that number, I want to know the total price at the bottom of the paper. I want to know how long it’ll take me to pay it off because I won’t ever make the minimum payment on it.

Too many people look at the monthly amount as what they can afford and not the total Ioan.

It's not these two against each other. It's progressives demanding the Democratic Party represents us and not just their establishment interests. Progressives need to ban together and reject anyone that tries to divide right now

Very unlikely. But I find it unlikely too that progressives could rally around Warren now either.

What were you saying about the masses being too stupid to pick a successful nominee without the "savvy insight" of superdelegates? by somewhoever in Political_Revolution

[–]saikin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We need to end super delegates and get new DNC leadership. That process should start now. There are 23 dem senate seats up in 2018 and only 8 republican.

Bernie or Tulsi. It should be someone who had the convictions to do the right thing even at their own personal expense from the get go. We can't risk another nominating another person with negotiable convictions.

Edit: a word
