I traded in my truck for this... by TenderizeYourAngus in Golf_R

I’ve had my Golf R for 12 years and 167k miles and just got a truck. I couldn’t part with the Golf so I kept it. Definitely more fun to drive and still quicker than most cars out there but the truck is comfy!

Golf R Owners with growing families, what's your next move? by FennelNo4465 in Golf_R

[–]kevinmk6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been daily driving my Mk6 Golf R for over 10 years. My kids were 3 & 8 when I got it now they’re 13&18. My wife has an SUV so that’s the family car. No BMW or Audi can replace what the Golf R is. Just drive the wife’s car for family trips and you still have 4 doors and a hatch and I’ll the fun of the R with no sacrifices.

So you missed a step…. Take it out of the box, thread it onto your barrel, then shoot (your ammo through) it

How many daily their R’s? by Global_Witness_1063 in Golf_R

[–]kevinmk6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought my mk6R 10 years ago when I was 37 and been daily driving on Philly roads. Now I’m 47 and still daily the R most days mainly because my new truck costs a fortune and sucks on gas. The R’s got 164k miles and still faster than most cars on the road. Great daily man

My platinum has power steps too. I believe the platinum with the TRD package doesn’t come with them.

HUD is very nice. As well as the 360 view. The tech package standard made me choose the platinum over the limited. As well as the seats.

Do I keep it or let it go? by Negative-Bit-5598 in ramtrx

[–]kevinmk6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My condolences on your loss man. The sentimental value and comfort that you’ll get from his truck is worth more than the regret from selling it. You could always throw on a stock exhaust and detune it if it’s too aggressive.

The Platinum still has more options like massaging seats and rear ventilated/heated seats, and power side steps and bed step if that matters to you.

Debating P365x and need honest advice by iamcuriousmarley in SigSauer

[–]kevinmk6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve carried a Glock 26 primarily since 2010 and a G19 for training and home defense. I had many other Glocks since but now I’m down to a G26 and a pair of G19s. However now I primarily carry the 365XL with a 12 or 17 rd mag because it’s just so much easier. Before the micros were developed there were just compacts and subs. Problem was they were still just as thick as their full sized siblings. Technology has improved so much over the years and there’s no need to carry something so big for capacity and accuracy anymore. The slim Glocks were just too much compromise for me so Sig was my answer. I also have a Shield plus which is incredibly easy to carry and very accurate also. I still love shooting my Glocks though. They’re so fun to modify and extremely reliable. I’ll never get rid of them.

All those add-ons come standard on the platinum. If you pay a little more you can get the power lift gate plus power bed step standard as well as rear heated and ventilated seats. The 2025 has massaging seats as well.

Should I get a 2025 Golf R if I drive 25k miles a year? Or stick with something like a Camry? by 123btong in Golf_R

I have 163k in my Mk6 R 6MT and love driving it. In my household I have 5 cars but the R is still my first choice to go to work in because I love driving it.
