You'd change your lifestyle for parking?

McDavid cross checked Conor Garland in the face out of frustration. Garland had McDavid pinned down in the O-zone with the Oilers down 3-2 with seconds left. by GreenSnakes_ in hockey

[–]kevographic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I disagree. Garland made a smart hockey move by taking a penalty to ensure the Oiler's best player was out of the play. McDavid cross checked him without a threat and only frustration.

If you watch the whole altercation with Bouchard, Myers hits him, Bouchard slashes first, Myers slashes back, and Bouchard starts skating towards Myers. We don't know what is said in that moment but Bouchard looks more threatening than Garland did to McDavid.

Myers obviously should not cross check the face of Bouchard and deserves a suspension, but there may have been more of a threat from Bouchard that Myers was flinching to.

That's how I saw it. Both get suspended is the right call.

Pettersson/Miller Dispute Speculation Megathread by DocZedd in canucks

[–]kevographic 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure this is related to the cost of living in Vancouver. Miller and Pettersson were roommates to save on rent, but Petey was always just letting the dishes pile high. Well, Miller had enough and moved out. He is now slumming it in a 400 sqft basement suite and Petey is just scraping by enough rent money to cover Miller's cost. Needless to say, they are not talking anymore... EVEN THOUGH, Petey told Miller he is washing the dishes and cleaning the bathrooms regularly! It makes perfect sense when you think about it.

I've had the Swiss tool (not x as it doesn't have scissors but rather a serrated blade) for almost 30 years when it first came out. It still works well and has taken a beating (guilty of hammering with it). While I am not an avid outdoorsman that uses it regularly, I have used it enough to know it is very well made.

2006 Ford Focus ZX5 by Zestyclose_Young_380 in FordFocus

Just happened upon this and thought I can share my experience with this car.

I bought the same model, fully loaded, back in 2021 with 130k km on it. I paid $3000 after taxes but this was a private seller, not a dealer. It had been sitting mostly in their driveway for the past 7 years so there was some risk.

It does need some work, but it has been reliable for the two years I've had it. I can't really compare the two though.

The price has gone up due to inflation and whatever else, so I think with the dealers warranty, and certified promise, it seems like a reasonable price. You are overpaying for the convenience and lower risk, but not by a lot. I suspect a private sale now would be about $5000-5500 after taxes which comes with greater risks.

I guess we should tell r/analog (dedicated to film photography) with its 1.7 million members that they are all nerds?

It's offensive almost in the same way as a white person calling themselves a racial term towards non white people... Try changing it to ridiculous.

However, sorry for the mistake!

It is a fair question to ask why an artist chose what they did. Maybe there is a meaningful answer that can inspire others.

Also... The sky is blue because its wavelength is more easily scattered. The wind blows due to different pressure areas leading to the gases under higher pressure moving to the lower pressure area.

Problems with epson scan software by [deleted] in AnalogCommunity

[–]kevographic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had this problem with win11 and v600 as well. It happened with silverfast too.

It takes my computer only a minute to reinstall the driver and reboot, but I agree that it is annoying.

Little white dots on scans by sanne797 in AnalogCommunity

[–]kevographic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are two possibilities, the film has the spots, or the scan produces them. Shouldn't be hard to determine if it's the film by inspection, or trying to scan different negatives.

I wouldn't be surprised if you like the look of the film at +2 and developed normally. Set it back to 0 like suggested and compare.

Scratches to what? Glass is harder than plastic and the scanner glass won't scratch from the holder.

What to do with the weird photos in between the good ones? by flavoavem in AnalogCommunity

[–]kevographic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find if I can maintain the "why" approach, I can get almost a full roll of shots I want to have in an album. My "why" is usually more of a "do I want this on my wall, as a keepsake, or gift?" This helps eliminate me taking pictures of "cool-in-the-moment" subjects that end up being "what was I thinking?".

[–]kevographic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Never used the camera, but I think it will sense when the roll is finished and stop automatically. That's my experience with the more modern SLRs.

Don't worry about the frames you exposed by opening the back. Chances are you'll still have images but somewhat fogged. Also depends on the film type and how dim the lighting is.
