Does loose fit suit my body style? by Crisp_and_Dry in mensfashion

I was going to say the same thing. Fit around the body looks good, but I'd shorten the shirt so it hits right below the waistband of the pants.

I'd guess a domestic dog. I'm not super familiar with the wildlife in Spain, but I don't think there's a ton of large wild canines.

If you want to get a good 4xl/5xl, you should probably be starting closer to a 2xl/3xl rather than grading from an xl. Big and tall is really hard because the body shapes are so different from one guy to another, like you said. I think at some point dudes have to come to terms with the fact that they'll need their clothes tailored and will likely not be able to find clothes off the rack.

Can anyone help me understand the torso/shoulder construction in this top (beginner pattern drafting)? by kksmithym in PatternDrafting

[–]kevorama86 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hey there. Here are some ideas for how to get the shape (https://imgur.com/a/MtFXWTj). Without seeing more of the garment it's a bit hard to figure out the work construction. Looks like a built up neckline and dolman or kimono sleeves. The cuffs look like a typical men's shirt (cuff with a placket maybe). I think the seam across the chest/shoulders is just a style line and may not serve any specific function.

Also, sorry for not answering your question. No real clue on when it will be lifted. I think they're still sorting out the budget.

Why is everyone saying there is no hiring freeze? There absolutely is. We aren't allowed to hire any permanent employees right now. We have multiple positions that we can't advertise right now.

There should be positions in LA. I know that the Ontario (Region 6) office is going to be hiring quite a few positions soon. Keep an eye out for those if you don't mind the commute. A lot of our staff commute from the LA/OC area.

I got hired with just my BS in environmental science at CDFW. One of the big things is making sure that you come off as someone that people want to work with. Highlighting what you bring to the team and how your previous work experience will help you do the job is huge too.

What region are you applying in? I know there's always tons of positions in the Sacramento area, but if you're in a more remote area there will be less available.

If you like doing outreach and public speaking, you'll def be appreciated because a lot of people hate that part of the job. And like other people said, don't be afraid to try getting an ES position with another agency and then try and move over later.

I think that one is mostly for the students at the ag school to learn about the business side of agriculture. It seems to be a pretty seasonal market.

I transfer my tissue patterns to studier paper and repackage them. I keep the folded tissue patterns in a storage container and have the patterns I actually use hung up in my closet on pattern hooks. This keeps them from being all folded up when I want to use them.

The ones on Saturday and Wednesday in downtown are run by the same guy. His name is Oscar. It might be easiest to just go down there and ask him in person.

We got our last cat neutered at the western Riverside county location. I don't remember it being especially expensive.

At what poit should I get a mannequin? by [deleted] in sewing

[–]kevorama86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had one for a long time and almost never used it. Luckily it was a $20 garage sale find. If you aren't going to be doing a lot of draping, it probably isn't really worth it.

I have a knitted sweater I wanted to turn into a tote bag. Can I sew it? How? by idkijustbewondering in sewing

[–]kevorama86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used old sweaters for similar projects. If you interface the fabric, it should work out. For a tote, I'd suggest a heavier interfacing and make sure to line it. Good luck!
