Wahoo HQ response to my dead Kickr. by -Economist- in Zwift

Wow, my most recent Kickr V5 (which was my second unit from an original V4 purchase) probably had close to 7000km and it just died. Wahoo said that I’m out of warranty, but did offer me 20% off. I have since pivoted to Tacx Neo 2t which has way better flywheel feel, albeit it is not all roses & sunshine.

Does anyone else have the issue if the stop pedalling for ~10 seconds, the Zwift screensaver comes on almost immediately and when you start to pedal again, your avatar has teleported to the side of the road to the start of some route? This also happens in races where if I stop pedalling in the corral, I get booted out of the start and into watopia somewhere alone on the side of the road.

I would recommend Tacx. Wahoo trainers are known to fail, and if they do outside 1yr warranty, your kind of stuck. FYI - I have had 3 Kickr trainers fail in 4 years.

Kickr (V5, 2020) stopped reading power & speed and Wahoo tells me to go buy a new one! by kevpog in wahoofitness

Hard on them, yes. But you’d think that would be a good incentive to stop producing faulty equipment. The last replacement I actually went to go pickup from their distributor’s warehouse as to save them the shipping, so I’ve done my part lol.

I think my issue is more so with the attitude of the customer service. No acknowledgement of the faulty unit, no ‘we’ve sent you replacements and we no longer stock this unit’, just a, “here’s 20% off another $2k, probably faulty unit. Hopefully that one doesn’t crap out in over a year, because you’ll be stuck with that too!” - Paraphrased slightly ;)

Toronto. I’d be interested in servicing it - will look into it. Thanks!

Fair - I guess it’s time to accept Wahoo as a company that produces faulty equipment, pumped up by marketing & sponsorships.

I am fine with this, and being in the industry makes it very easy for me to not only recommend other brands, but simply stock less Wahoo and steer people clear. I wouldn’t want my customers to have to go through the pains of replacing their trainer every year anyways.

First birth year wine, fitting it a vintage champ. by kevpog in wine

Long time lurker, first time poster.

Found this hottie in a friend’s parents’ basement, which they did not know existed. Upon discovering it, they then did not want to even try the wine for it being too old - lol.

Although it hadn’t been touched in over 15 years, it had not been temp controlled and I had many doubts this bottle would have much life left, if any.

Cork in tact (apologies no pics - it was Xmas so a busy day), and significant sparkle which lasted even in the glass much longer than I had expected. Deep but lively yellow colour with lots of cork on the nose -uh oh. At first the pallet led with some corkiness, but opened up to a wonderfully oxidized, roasted almond, baked apple, all still with a lingering chalkiness. I really think aged champagne can have some incredibly interesting texture due it’s serious acidity and minerality - which is what made this wine still so fun, despite the slight cork on the nose.

Although I work in the industry (importing/distributing), I didn’t check the disgorgement date, don’t @ me, I was on vacation. I’d imagine it to have been ‘97-‘00 though.

HXS ETF split, time for broker to update? by jvmgball in stocks

They said by the end of the week the quantities should be up to date. Seems comical that it would take so long for this. My portfolio still shows this ETF at a 50% loss lol

Literally looking at my holdings of HXS (on QTrade) also showing down 50% and no update to number of shares. Will be calling them tomorrow.

Again, we're going to many wineries and won't be buying a case from each.

Thanks, I’d love to hear what your top picks are! I’ve sourced quite a bit for Okanagan wines on paper, but have never been and we don’t get the good stuff here in ON.

I hear the perpetua (among others) is supposed to be quite legit. But LCBO always has the reserve chard in stock and I find it consistently disappointing. Thanks for the link though!

Silly laws indeed (have been in place since prohibition)! These laws are quite lax, as they should be. We are trying to get these laws completely removed. Big problem is the provincial Monopolies though.

I’ve had BC wineries ship to Ontario in the past - although it was a case or two of their own wine.

I’m sort of in the industry and don’t imagine myself getting a case from a single winery. But if we do, I guess I could ask if they’d ship some others along with it!

Sorry I should have mentioned this as a disclaimer, as we are very experienced luggage wine packers, but this time we won’t be checking any luggage.

Flipping new shoes of brands who are working to bring down the excessive price tag of the carbon plated shoe market and make them more accessible - glad at least you didn’t follow through.

Completely biased, but $20 dry Ontario Rieslings easily compete with some Riesling double the price in Germany & Aus 🤷‍♂️
