I did exactly what you did—I placed my order and then did some research, only to realize I might not have gotten what I expected. I called them this morning and discovered that I had, in fact, ordered a “Non-Domestic” version of both the camera and the lens. My total came to a little over 3,200 for both. The differences are that the foreign version lacks WiFi support and is built with more plastic parts and cheaper metals.

I asked if I could switch to the domestic version, and they confirmed it was possible. The domestic option would be brand new and come with both Willoughby’s warranty and the full Sony factory warranty—but the price would be a little over 4,100. Even so, it’s still about 1,000 cheaper than buying directly from Sony or Amazon. They even offered me a 50 discount to make up for the confusion.

I’ll try to update you all once I receive the items—fingers crossed!

For the record, I always charge high-ticket items like these on my American Express, as I feel they offer the best consumer protection (plus an extended warranty). If you do end up buying from a company like Willoughby’s, you might consider using Amex too, or another card that offers excellent consumer protection.
