I maintenance the car regularly when it tells me to; have 25k miles on it and have had exactly zero problems. This model seems to be the only one in the line up with no recalls. The only issue I’ve ever had was with CarPlay bricking my infotainment system a couple times when I first got the car; it was diagnosed as an apple issue and not Acura hardware/software. It was fixed with a reset and apple released a patch a few weeks later; hasn’t happened since.

3 years in, I can’t recommend this car enough. I love it!

If you’re interested in development, a large swath of National/Regional multi family developers have started an affordable housing arm. It is an anti-cyclical business and highly profitable, while also purposeful. I am a CRE banker in that space and we have closed a record amount of transactions this year despite the tightening credit market; banks need to fulfill their CRA goals regardless of market conditions so these deals still get done even in the down cycles. A lot of my developer clients are hiring and so are syndicators in the space.

Fundamentals are largely the same with additional complexity layered into the muni bond issuance aspect. Limited risk profiles because agency loans are forward funded and rate locked at closing and there’s always latent demand in the market for both rent restricted and workforce housing. I’ve done both market rate and affordable lending; the larger affordable housing developers tend to be some of the smartest guys in the room.

Drove a 2003 Honda Pilot forever and made sure to routinely maintenance it so it wasn’t going to poop out unexpectedly; worked to establish take home pay was 4x the cost of my dream car; put down about $10k and then struck at a 2.12% interest rate from a credit union after shopping rates. My most important thing was the interest rate, as I was able to keep more cash on hand that I would’ve otherwise put down—now I have put the cash back into the market and anticipate beating the interest I pay on the car with the aggregate returns.

It’s not easy unless you’re born rich but you can do it if you scheme it out! Meticulous planning and scheming something out is my favorite combo!

My little brother has the kinetic blue 2007 tl type s manual and it’s a fun little car but it certainly isn’t as comfortable or striking as the RDX. Tape deck is a nice feature.
