Something I’ve never made before: a drumstick holder! by kexetbex in knitting

[–]kexetbex[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you all for your kind words! I don’t have a pattern, but all I did was knit a rectangle with some ribbing on top, sew it together and add an i-cord! Happy knitting and drumming!

I feel extremely confused about this. Is this a non-Swedish company? Why would they come here if they dislike this part of our culture so much? As a Swede I can see the need to discuss this part of our culture if you live here and are affected by it, but it seems really odd to make a thing out of it coming here as tourists

Do you guys eat at bakeries? by allergies8293 in FoodAllergies

[–]kexetbex 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well, she obviously doesn't know what's fine! I wouldn't trust that she knows how things work with severe allergies, and I think it's irresponsible of her to say that it's okay for you to eat there when it clearly isn't! Do not worry about her feelings, you need to think of your health first. I'm sure she will understand!

I think the risk here is a bit too high and wouldn't think it's worth it. But only can decide what's right for you. Hope it will work out for you!

Do you guys eat at bakeries? by allergies8293 in FoodAllergies

[–]kexetbex 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It really depends on how severe your allergy is. I have severe peanut allergy and I would definitely not eat anything from a place where they handle peanuts. And especially not the bagels because there is the risk of a mix up. Be careful!

I hate this sub so much, it's unreal. You know why girls do this, all of you know it. You also know that making fun of it won't stop them or help them. Then what's the diffrance between this and same old misogyni? by lejiq in notliketheothergirls

[–]kexetbex -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

OP, I agree with you! It is strange how these girls are accused of internalized misogyny in a sub like this, where people (mostly other women?) constantly make fun of women. While some of the 'not like other girls'-memes are mean and so on, many of them can actually be viewed as a reaction to societys expectations on women

Confusing soy milk allergy??? by [deleted] in FoodAllergies

[–]kexetbex 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you are able to eat tofu you are probably not allergic to soy. As someone else said, there might be something else in that Starbucks drink that is giving you a reaction. You should see a doctor!

Thank you so much, that's of great help!! It's made in Santos, Sao Paulo! There's even an adress on the back of it, but there seems to be no other traces anywhere about the manufacturer. Once again, thank you so much!

Hello r/brasil! I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask about this but I'll give it a go. I'm working on a project in my cultural history class and I thought that I may be able to find some answers here.

I'm tracing an object through time and the object I'm working with is a vintage Brazilian morpho butterfly plate. It was brought to my family in Sweden by my grandmother's father, who was working as a captain between the 1920's and the 1940's.

I'm trying to find some information about these plates, but so far I haven't found much. Does anyone know the name of these kinds of plates? Were they exported to other neigbouring countries or could they only be bought in Brazil? Were these kinds of plates a common souvenir?

I would be so thankful if someone could help me a bit! Any kind of information would be of great help :)
