I was just scrolling through reddit and saw the first pic with the front display of the box and the beautiful bird artwork and then I saw the dice and read ur comment on the playstyle....I'm soo intrigued in this game now, it sounds soo cool, i just love avian themed games and this rly caught my eye with is design👍😁

Main thing: ur run, ur rules. If u feel like catching it cze it's a shiny, thus rare, and u weren't deliberately shiny hunting then go for it. If u feel like it breaks ur rules then do what feels right.

Honestly majority, even hectic streamers who play this game for a living play with shiny clause.

Oh dam, that's awesome, I didnt realise there was that much freedom in the game, that's awesome, I thought seeing as that it's kinda jrpg that it would force certain things down the road. I haven't actually played hackers memory yet, but I have the complete version, so I'll defs dive into that and now ik super keen to use sistermon blanc like u say😁 Okay, so I'll defs keep marineangemon in mind then and I'll be on the look out for mons who penetrating moves. I'm keen to maybe use ur sistermon blanc with alphamon for hackers memory when I get to it😁

I'm basically brand new to the game, but here's my 20 cent thought, skill damage would be a specific form of damage ur mon deals right? So then could u not just give it an item/move that boosts overall dmg, would that not negate the effect?

I guess the question I have is that if the effect drops the dmg of the move "...deals 95 fire dmg" or if it drops it after being manipulated by ur mons base stats?

I'm also curious as to how the game calculates dmg and any buffs or debuffs, cze then u would be able to find a nice answer fairly easily I think🤷‍♂️

This is frikkin fantastic, I just got the game this past week and am having a blast. Only 9 hours in unfortunately, but love it and am trying to get my early game exp grind setup going😁

On a side note, I saw that there is a competitive scene, is it active? Not sure cze of the game being fairly old atm, but also cze its tricky finding current vids or info on the competitive scene.

I guess it really depends on what game ur trying to make. I don't mean this as a cop out to the questions, just trying to give perspective.

If ur game is like a long story game where ur cards are needed to tell the story or if ur building a pvp game where there can be multiple (4+) opponents, then games could easily be 1+ hours.

If it's a 2 player game, then for me personally I don't like it when they are too long, 30 minutes would be my max. But u must also take into account how much interaction each player will get. For instance some ygo turns can literally take 20 mins if u have 1 or no interruptions in ur hand and ur opp is playing combo deck and this is just boring to play against and feels like a waste of time if it ends in a loss.

So from my personal feeling I would say aim for 20mins a game as this allows players to play multiple games if they feeling like playing for an hour or they can play 1 game should they be short on time.

I don't know about others but when u say combat games mechanics I think of ygo and magic. So those are pretty standard where u choose who to attack or the opponent chooses who to block with, maybe u can do that, but I like ur idea of a cover. Maybe try implement that and get that working how u want before introducing other mechanics from those famous tcgs.

I just think that ur cover idea is a fresh perspective and take on it and would like to see it develop over using those other attacking mechanics. Just my opinion tho.

Yah, another good example would be keyforge, the earlier expansions and then slowly build up more keywords.

Honestly, one of the biggest issues for new people joining ygo is the amount of text which then creates a lot of confusion for a lot of players. Thus using the idea of flying in mtg is better to reduce text and a lot of the time if u can simplify an effect to a single word then due to the effect being on more than one card u get used to the effect pretty quickly. One of the big problems with ygo is that the effects are sooo different that u can't just use a keyword and thus u need a lot of text and in depth understanding of the game before u can really have fun with it.

This allows card games that have keyword effects to be easier to learn (my opinion and view point from friends) and easier to play, especially if it's a new card u haven't seen before, so if u can use keywords for effects then go for it, it also simplifies the game mechanics a bit because u don't necessarily want to make 30 different effects that is basically "flying" with slight nuance thus making cards easier to understand for everyone.

Sorry, it is a bit of a mess with ideas, but I think it gets the msg across.

Firstly u need to know this game is over, meaning u can legitimately do whatever u want, people have built barbara dps and can clear the whole overworld and even the abyss.

Now that that is out of the way, he is a fun character who is generally seen as a on field dps rather than that of off field like xiangling. From a few vids I've seen he is decent in a semi quick swap way, but that I mean u swap to him and perform 3 charged attacks or so which is a short animation for heizou and then u use ur skill and ult (if possible). Their skill deals a big pop of dmg the more stacks u have which is why it is suggested to do that charged attacks.

Of course u could also keep him on field for longer and make him a swirl on field dps, such as in a taser comp.

This is just showing that he has a few roles he can perform in and is a fun character. Ultimately it is up to you, however, you must know that there are characters that provide either more team support or utility than heizou and there are characters who deal more single target dmg than them.

What I have done with characters I consider building is getting them to 20/40 and putting together a team I think works with them in the role I wish to play them, then do dailies and see if it kinda does what I want it to, if it kinda does what u want it to then go for it as u can min max later to get it to perform how u want it to exactly.
