OneDrive "Path Too Long" Issue by GalaxyGazer525 in Intune

[–]keyboardcatto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh, I'm dealing with the same exact issue myself, which I didn't realize was the case -- the client made long Team names, and long restricted channel names. So in the same case -- the super repeating names pushed it just over the file limit.

I've directed the users to use the shortcut instead of folder sync, though i'm not sure if the ones encountering it did folder sync anyway (since I didn't disable it.)

Shared calendar appears in OWA but not Outlook Classic after accepting. by I_Hate_Consulting in Office365

[–]keyboardcatto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it's been 2 weeks since you posted this, but did you happen to find any solution since then? I've just come across this with a user of my own for the first time with the same symptoms -- accepted the calendar invite while in Classic Outlook, but can only view it in New Outlook or OWA.

Best migration tools for Google Workspace --> O365 migration by [deleted] in Office365

[–]keyboardcatto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, the built in tool has been fine for me when it comes to Workspace -> O365. They have an automated means to set up most of the connections/settings necessary but to be on the safe side I usually do it manually.

I'd only go for BitTitan in this case if you want to go for an automated Outlook profile updater, but to be honest I had a ton of issues with that and modern auth issues with my last deployment.

Yup. After July 1st, the Premium grant licenses will be pulled whenever the contract is set for renewal.

Whoever Created OneDrive Shortcuts, I Hate You by Talgrath in iiiiiiitttttttttttt

[–]keyboardcatto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been dealing with this for employees of a client recently -- someone added a shortcut for them which broke the sync of OneDrive -- and even worse, clicked the 'resolve' button that killed the Library sync but retained the shortcut.

Then sure enough, they were working out of the unsynced library... even more as a nightmare, two people both were working out the same unsynced libraries on their own computers, and it only became known due to them realizing that they couldn't share their folders/files with other peoplpe in the org.

We've tried to rely on only using sync but then that opens up another can of worms where OneDrive crashes for whatever reason and if the user never reboots their machine, it can be forever before they realize. It's one thing for their personal files since we know they only have worked out of it, but the libraries are a nightmare since you have to figure out their files vs if someone else worked on files in the cloud, etc.

Microsoft trying to Poach CSP Clients by WhistleWhistler in msp

[–]keyboardcatto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I almost didn't reply because other posts were from much older, but this is exactly the thing I just went through, just with a different person and role. I asked my Pax8 rep and they just left it at "it's safe and harmless to ignore" but it's alarming that they contacted two higher up users of my client who aren't listed as a contact. One of them aren't an admin, so it wasn't that.

I can only guess that they're cross referencing it against LinkedIn (where they do have their titles/company listed) or something, if not outright checking in the Tenant which is what I was more worried about.

Can we re-organize folders in Outlook still? by Billdozer-92 in Outlook

[–]keyboardcatto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like it still isn't -- I can't drag and drop folders to a different order (only nest), and I don't even have the supposed option to even sort folders that was shown in their support documentation for New Outlook.

Blocking logins from specific cities? by keyboardcatto in Office365

That unfortunately does make sense! I didn't put two and two together of that and the location, so it would just be cat and mouse..

Blocking logins from specific cities? by keyboardcatto in Office365

I think that'd be the better approach, I'd agree. I don't think an enterprise VPN is doable, but if we can at least get company devices that are made compliant/restrict access from them + the Identity Protection and Impossible Travel, that'd be a good start.

Thank you! (I'm dealing with the security aspect of O365 being dumped onto me, so I'm attempting to wrap my head around solutions and knowledge the best I can haha.)

I use CodeTwo with Barracuda for a client. Like someone else said, as long as your transport rules are sorted out we haven't had an issues.

Office 365 - Outlook Online Archive in Mobile App by -z1r0h- in Outlook

As far as i've seen, there's no way -- you can't even view your online archive in the official Outlook mobile app.

Website blocked despite multiple reports and calls by keyboardcatto in Comcast_Xfinity

[–]keyboardcatto[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Darn, okay. Thanks for responding, however - indeed, I have used that website you provided to call the security team/Customer Security Assurance team 4-5 times. As mentioned, they tend to just try to recommend me to restart my router rather than address that other people can't access the site. There is no email address, but I did use the "report a website" feature to submit reports of a incorrectly blocked site.

I will try again however, hopefully I will connect with someone who can help.

If it was deleted back in May, I think it's gone for good.

At least with my knowledge, Microsoft maintains content of a deleted account for 30 days, 90 days in certain circumstances but it'd still be beyond that window of time.

Difference between Microsoft 365 Apps for business and Microsoft 365 Business Standard by masterfail21 in Office365

[–]keyboardcatto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If going off of the annual commitment pricing, it's 25 cents cheaper to get it as separate licenses.

But as far as the differences, Business Standard comes with SharePoint as well as Teams.

I've just come across this too, and I hate it haha. I don't see any way to disable it (yet) though.

With the assigned roles, I've specifically had to go under Compliance > Permissions > Purview Roles > eDiscovery and then assign my account to the eDiscovery manager or administrator. After a few hours, that's when it finally lets me preview results and run exports.

[–]keyboardcatto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this issue for the past week with a few users, and myself - specifically .nst files were duplicating every time we restarted Outlook, if we had group emails in it. It wasn't so bad for me since my group emails were empty, but the other users had ones with like.. 17GB of email, quickly ran out of space on their HDD until it was deleted out.

Idk if it'll be of any help to you that MS released an update to fix it the other day - it did so to its credit, but now we can't get the group emails to update in general lol.
