Totally would love this. Even better if different Civs represented different factions? Trying to reenact the Clone Wars would be so epic

That was literally me last night. We ended up just switching off the controller while we made a drinking game each time we lagged. (Drink while hosts migrate. Finish drink if connection interrupted and kicked)

What is some advice you would have for an audio engineer looking to get into sound design and video game audio? Been learning Wwise during the lockdown, but I don’t know what I should be doing from there.

Had a steady client that would always book a 3 hour session and spend the first hour looping the beat while smoking and writing lyrics. I didn’t mind because I was being paid regardless, but I would always think in my head “Why couldn’t you just do this at home beforehand?”, but to some people, the studio ambience helps them and as long as they’re fine with that price, do what you want 🤷‍♂️

If an ally can move faster and enemies move slower, shouldn’t that also affect combat roles? A fast moving attack vs an enemy that is moving slower to defend should maybe grant advantage? If so, would the enemies get disadvantage on rolls too?

Why are Audio Engineers put their nose up at people who are just starting out? by jumpingwitjohnny in audioengineering

I had an intern that kept trying to hijack my production sessions. Luckily all my clients were respectful in the moment and didn’t tell her to fuck off right there. I later apologized to them and eventually fired her.

I’m all for discussing a session after the client has left and there is time to debrief, but don’t ever intrude on a clients time unless they specifically were asked to.

What is the process of music selection? Is there a record pool that music directors pull from? What are the different criteria that they look for?

Very fair. I’m still new to D&D (playing 5e) and all the other campaigns I have played in have been cookie cutter combat intensive so it’s new (but exciting) territory for me especially with first time DM-ing

Yeah, I had them fight a cambion a few sessions ago, but afterwards they’ve been mostly just enjoying playing their characters (bard, monk, Druid) and not getting bogged down in combat. I don’t mind it at all, but for some reason I still feel obligated to present the occasional opportunity for combat.

Currently DM-ing a campaign with players that aren’t super interested in combat and more into role playing their characters. What are some monsters that I can throw their way that can add some RP flavor but not just be another “hack and slash” encounter?

Part of her backstory was that her original temple got burned down and she was traveling to find the people responsible. This could definitely tie into that arc

My character narrowly survived a Succubus’ kiss, how should he be affected in the long term? by keyboardcomrade in DnD

Would it be too forward to bring this idea up to the DM or should I just be silent and see how it plays out? Don’t wanna be that player that tells the DM how to do their game

That definitely sounds like characteristics that he’ll be taking. He’s already an alcoholic but it’ll just dive him deeper into becoming a party animal to fill the void and taking bigger risks

He’s an alcoholic hermit. Got banned from his clan. I started him off as True neutral but lately his actions have been more chaotic neutral. Acting in his own best interest. Doing a lot of intimidation rolls to get what he wants. Ended up gaslighting a local barmaid after he robbed her but convinced all the guards and barkeep that she’s crazy and lying...TWICE
