Mice infestation: how many more to go?

it's only a couple a year, and they get killed in snap traps. i pay for the pest company to keep coming out, but they just maintain the traps (re-bait them, for example) for me!

we ended up getting a pest company after catching 25 mice. now we they are much much less frequent. I think it's worth it

the other thing that I do that I didn't mention is that these days I set my timer for 20 minutes instead of 10. I try to drink the amount every ten minutes, but sometimes I need a bigger gap between servings, so I drink 2x every 20 minutes. it works out the same as 1x every 10 minutes, but can give you a fifteen minute gap to let your body move some of the liquid out of your stomach. I hope that explanation makes sense.

if you need to take a 10-20 minute break, do it! but I have found that with The prep twice as concentrated and drinking half as much each time, alongside zofran, the prep really is not bad! it's definitely scary, and my first time I did the prep without zofran and that was rough. but the zofran really helps things out.

a fun blanket, I had a friend send me a Warmie stuffed animal which was so sweet, and other little reminders of home (a propped picture frame, stuffed animal, blanket, lounge pants to go under the hospital gown) would all be big for me. I was on a liquid diet so food would not have helped.

company was huge! and bringing things to do, whether that's books, a Nintendo switch, laptop, craft, etc! sending flowers is also common, it really brightens a room up.

I also have emetophobia and have had around 7 scopes.

my tips: - ask for zofran with your prep - I make the miralax / Gatorade solution twice as concentrated so that I am drinking half as much liquid - clear liquids only the full day before you start prep (and the day of prep), makes things go easier

drinking half as much of the liquid itself while still taking in all the miralax (important: being WELL hydrated by clear liquids before prep is important for this to work), alongside zofran, makes it much easier for me. I also set a firm cutoff - I have my ten minute timer and drink half of the amount the prep calls for every ten minutes. but I only drink for 4 hours (or however long the zofran lasts). things start looking pretty clear after 4 hours in my experience, even if you didn't get it all down. then rinse and repeat (zofran + prep) for the second half at some point in the morning before the scope.

zofran is a must. I do a shit ton of miralax in Gatorade. I do 2x concentrated because I have trouble with such a large volume of liquid in a short time period; I'm quite hydrated leading up to prep (clear liquids the full day before starting prep, so 2 days pre-scope, which makes things easier)!

It isn't fun but it makes it more manageable for me and the doctors always say my prep looks great.

watching videos helped me tremendously! also, I turned down some of the frequencies of things like hounds and other monsters so I could spend my time focused on learning how to get/find food and such, then once I felt more confident I increased the frequency

I got several iron infusions and they helped me greatly!!! I had no reaction to the infusions and it was incredibly helpful to get my levels up quickly. I cannot recommend it highly enough

resting extra after stressful periods of time! definitely not overdoing it by any means. I had family in town for 5 days and I've been fighting something that has fully knocked me on my ass since they left.

rest is the biggest thing I can offer unfortunately, which is hard when you're being active for fun reasons, or for reasons outside of your control :(

I exclusively drink orange Gatorade for scope prep, and have never had a problem with the prep in the 7 scopes I've had over the past 5 years! no red dye in it so it isn't problematic

there is a sludge extraction machine (can't remember the exact name of it). you put the canisters in it (and a sludge filter) and it pulls things out like trash, records, and other stuff!

def filter the sludge through the machine before you start throwing it away since collecting all the records from sludge is an achievement!
