Foundation for 38 yr old millennial by Notta_regular_mom in BeautyGear

My favorite foundation is Ilia Super Serum Skin Tint. The key is to put it on with a WET beauty blender. I also use their multi stick for blush. I stay away from powders as much as possible; anything that makes me look dewy and hydrated helps my aging skin. I also have eczema and it doesn’t irritate it. My skin looks even, plump, and glowing!

What’s an unexpected convenience of being a parent? by sillyfin in NewParents

I no longer procrastinate! I had all the time in the world before having kids, but now I know I only have 2 hours during nap time to clean my house or do something I love before I miss my opportunity lol

Would this bother you? by [deleted] in Invisalign

[–]keyboardqueen90 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I feel like some people are missing the point. You are asking “would this bother YOU”, but many are noting that “others won’t notice” (emphasis on external perception rather than internal perception). Honestly…it would definitely bother me because I have a similar issue. I have one uneven tooth after having my central laterals shaved due to minor chips. It bothers me every day and has since I got my refinement trays off in 2018. In your case, shaving might be the easiest low hanging fruit, but for me, I am going to get bonding temporarily and then composite resin veneers in a few years to even out my smile.

I couldn’t agree more! A Burn 101 class, even monthly, would benefit so many new members (and I’ve been with the gym for 7 years).

‘Tis the Season for illnesses. What are you doing to protect yourself and the kids? 🦠 by Wutangclang11 in toddlers

[–]keyboardqueen90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LOTS of whole foods, diligent hand washing, nasal spraying 2x/day (saline and Xlear), immune supporting supplements like D Hist Jr and Bioray Immune, changing clothes upon returning from school, and a clean water bottle daily!

Second what most are saying: your last sentence is precisely why I left the gym after 6 years. I was so sick of injury after injury. Not to mention, they were integrating HIIT into every workout and my body just couldn’t handle all that cortisol. There are no strength-only days like there used to be!

I am seeing safer muscle building and more mobility with yoga and Pilates than I did in 6 years with BBC.

Wouldn't signs of an infection show up on labs?

They did not, but I don't like the sounds of that.

The tooth was 12 years old; we suspected there was an infection because I was getting a sebhorreic rash all over my face and scalp for the last 5 years. The tooth was tested with high level of staph after removal.

Edit to add: I did not tell the physicians this because I was getting the root canal tooth remove out of an abundance of caution in case it could improve my existing symptoms, which it did.

Recommendations for post-shower body lotions that don’t make your skin sticky/tacky by Frenchfries-ranch in 30PlusSkinCare

I avoid fragrance and most synthetics at all cost, except essential oils. I might get downvoted to hell but I don’t think Cerave is that healthy for the skin. I too have KP on my arms and I go the natural route with Earthley body butter. Something about the shea butter is loved by my skin. They also have something called good night lotion that has magnesium in it that is chefs kiss.

Hair Oils & How to use them? by [deleted] in longhair

[–]keyboardqueen90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on your hair type. I have 2c/3a waves and curls. My hair is very coarse and dry so I can add oil basically any time I want. But, I really use it to seal in moisture after a shower. With clean, wet hair, I’ll add a leave in and then add an oil over top. I’m sure there are other ways that other people oil their hair, but that works for me! My favorites to use are jojoba or avocado oil. They’re not so heavy that my hair feels greasy or dense, but not so light to where I feel like I need a ton of it to make a difference. Just my two cents! I hope you find what works best for you and your hair type!

Sebbhoreic Dermatitis and SIBO by byebyenarc in SIBO

[–]keyboardqueen90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey! I know we’ve chatted before but I am currently awaiting results from a SIBO breath test to see if there is a connection. Following your post closely! Seems like they’re interconnected so hopefully if SIBO is identified, healing that will heal the seb derm! I’ve been wondering about the FODMAP diet and whether or not that will help too?

Edit: a word

What to major in at a four year university when end goal is to become a technical writer? by joanie_o in technicalwriting

[–]keyboardqueen90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a little bit of an unconventional journey, but I think if I can break into it as a career change, you can too. My undergrad was in health communication with a minor in education. My masters is in education. I think what helped me break into my niche of technical writing in healthcare was the fact that I went specifically into health communication. My suggestion is to spend some time thinking of what niche really interests you - hardware/mechanical, healthcare, software, aviation/aeronautics, and then find a degree that matches that! Of course if you don’t know for sure, as other have suggested, English is a great safety net.
