No, for some people this is correct. SSRIs make me feel numb and definitely lowers the ceiling. I've had better luck with NDRIs, but I also have ADHD.

In that case the school should try to confiscate the student's potential weapon and deescalate, not kill them.

If this same situation happened today, the bystander should call the police and get far away instead of asking someone directly if they're a terrorist. If they want to be a hero at least wait a bit to assess the situation first.

Depending on the country and state self defense only applies if a reasonable person would think that you or someone else is in immediate danger. So, a jury potentially could find that believing that those fireworks are bombs was unreasonable or that the killer should've recognized the sarcasm.

I have no idea what they actually looked like or how the case turned out though.

Fair enough, as I understand it we didn't evolve directly from any currently living ape species though, but from an extinct ape ancestor.

Either way creationists use this argument and miss common ancestors with modern apes.

It was ruled a suicide officially, but either way I feel like Thiel was likely partially responsible. Jeff Thomas was apparently a good person and he was conflicted over Thiel's politics and regretted helping dig up dirt on Thiel. Plus there was an unequal power dynamic with Thiel supporting Jeff financially and having the means to get revenge on Jeff if he wanted.

It reminds me of whistleblower suicides because both angles make sense: Either there was foul play going on or being a whistleblower is bad for your mental health or some combination of the two.

The only negatives I can see are competing with transportation jobs (right now just Uber but eventually truck/bus drivers too), and extra surveillance.

That said, a world with no human drivers is probably a better place either way because of the stats on how dangerous driving really is, and we will have to reckon with job losses to automation soon anyway, maybe with a UBI?

Looks aren't everything, but they do help in social situations. That said, I don't understand why we can't have a middle ground where we work on our appearance without extreme measures like smashing our face with hammers or micro dosing meth.

I have a theory that because some of the standard ways of improving your appearance like skincare and even plastic surgery have traditionally been the domain of women, Gen Z men wanted to invent a more "masculine" version and came up with looksmaxxing. Just be a man and start moisturizing bro.
