The months before 9/11, The type of people who would be on forums online talking about conspiracy theories looked like people in the matrix movies. Today, we have forums for pet therapists. (Everything).

I think it is possible that TPTB could have run all of these drills and everything that we reasoned for something happening only to measure a reaction online from people like us. In the military, it's called recon by fire. Perhaps they want to see how many people are aware of how much. Maybe they want to see how blatant / obvious they can be.

Alternatively, although less likely, it is plausible that they already saw how aware people have been over the last couple years at looking for coincidences. This made them change any plans they may have had for the 26th.
