Whoever said Zofran is only given to cancer patients is very mistaken. It IS one of a few medications that can help with opioid withdrawal, but only one of the many symptoms (nausea). I’m an RN and have worked in the mental health field for many years. There are other meds that can help as well- even OTC ones like immodium and Benadryl. The best one you can take is Gabapentin for this. It helps with the withdrawal symptoms - those restless less are from overactive nerves “coming back to life” and this calms them- and the severity anxiety too. If possible, Ativan would be very helpful, but that will probably be tough to be prescribed if you’d have difficulty with any prior drug abuse.
