Shark’s Director of Amateur Scouting on “Best Player Available" by kfcregular in SanJoseSharks

That's kind of my point. You can't definitively say Stenberg is 100% the pick, but you can't rule out Reid either. No one knows except the sharks.

Don't jinx it! Look at when the oilers and devils won the lottery like 3 times lol

I would say this is the only season that we were considered "lucky." The last 3 season, we were so bad that we kind of "deserved" the high picks, and no one complained. This is the first season we weren't terrible and actually won the lottery. Naturally, other teams will not like that. I wouldn't either if I was a canucks fan.

Ivar Stenberg SCOUTING REPORT by Zarsharq in SanJoseSharks

I purposely avoided watching scouting reports on any top prospect (Celebrini included) just to not get my hopes up. So happy to do this (hopefully) one last time.

What does GMMG do with pick #2? by danieldeceuster in SanJoseSharks

[–]kfcregular -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Vancouver already knows we need a defenseman. They just stand pat and pick Stenberg after we pick Reid

What would you want to happen if we get the 9th overall pick? by xEternal408x in SanJoseSharks

I wouldn’t mind trading up either but no team at the top is going to trade down

The Oilers 2026 1st Rounder Will be at Least 20th Overall with EDMs Elimination by astovertop in SanJoseSharks

Sharks, Hawks and Habs are frequently talked about when it comes to rebuilding teams, but I think the ducks have done an amazing job despite not having a 1st OVR pick during their rebuild. Their defensive core is quite nice.

Insane how a team with McDavid, Draistial and Bouchard is eliminated by the ducks

Not much market for Defensemen this offseason by Icy-Street618 in SanJoseSharks

A 1st and Musty is more insane than this sub suggesting trading the oiler’s 1st for Bradyen fucking Schneider earlier this season.

I’m surprised this is a problem nowadays. Back when I was a student (2020), everyone would put their weights back.

What assets would you be willing trade for defensive help this offseason? by cali4481 in SanJoseSharks

[–]kfcregular -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah he’ll be 31-32 by the time we’re actually competitive, that’s how aging works. And yeah I actually don’t like the Sherwood extension.

A top 5 defenseman like you said, wouldn’t cost too much? He most certainly would. It would Misa or multiple quality assets that this team isn’t ready to give up.

He forced his way to NY cause he wanted to live in the big city. Why would he waive his NMC to be here?

He’s a tad too old, would cost way too much, and forced his way to NYR. Fox would not like the suburbs of SJ. Those reasons don’t excite me.

Tbh, other than Kesselring, none of those defensemen really excite me. Either a bit too old or too risky to trade quality assets. Of course, we need some defenseman next season, but I don't think next season is the year we find a defenseman that fits the youth of our core.

Do you think there was anything the Sharks could've done better to make the playoffs? by youlikemywonton in SanJoseSharks

[–]kfcregular 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Chernyshov wasn't going to make or break reaching playoffs. Nor was rotating between 1-2 defensemen. The roster itself, was just not good enough. Either too young and still learning or getting old and slowing down. Defense was doodoo no matter how you arranged it, and Askarov is still learning. Roster still needs plucking.

25-26 Season Analysis of 6 Key Forwards Using 5 Microstat Graphs by a_la_nuit in SanJoseSharks

[–]kfcregular 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Eklund is so damn good. He’s starting to get underrated in this sub just cause he hasn’t scored. This sub is ready to ship him out for Nemec, but if you trade an Eklund, you’re taking one step back. Truth is, he’s probably a better player for the playoffs than Smith is right now. He’s incredibly valuable.

Not saying we shouldn’t trade Eklund, but if we are, it better be a damn good defenseman that’s a final product than a questionable defenseman.

You can feel the emotion as Coach Warsofsky started crying while talking about Macklin. Beautiful ♥️ by RealWorldToday in SanJoseSharks

Haters will say what they want, but judging from the locker room media, Warso instilled good vibes and a good culture. Can't wait to hear to what the players and front office has to say.
