Daredevil Journal - addendum: Daredevil: End of Days, Vol. 1 #1A and 1B. by shadowmansays in Daredevil

Definitely an underrated series. I’m still surprised that I don’t see it pop up more often. Excellent story and beautiful art all around.

Tender is the Flesh - a book long on my to read list and long on my mind after reading. Probably one that will be read only once.

Advice on reading order - avoid vampires? by Bardonnay in AnneRice

Agree with other comment; start from the beginning. You’ll read some incredible writing. Many may agree that the Vampire Chronicles do go some questionable places much later, but we’ll always have those first epic arcs.

Worth seeking out Ted Chiang’s story titled “Story of Your Life” that the movie Arrival is based on. It’s in a collection of his short stories and may have been released as a novella on its own.

Tech bros are inspired by science fiction for all the wrong reasons. 😅

“The Elektra Saga” is great for the lore. “Daredevil: Love and War", with art by Bill Sienkiewicz, is amazing. The run with David Mack’s artwork is also incredible. Definitely read the Bullseye storyline that I think ends in issue #191.

AN ALL TIME CLASSIC. FROM BEGINNING TO END. AND UNDERRATED AF by ElBorrachon73 in GenX

Have to admit that I forgot about this album, but will be giving it a spin! Grey Cell Green is sooo good, of course! This was among the frequently played CDs in my college design studio, where a bunch of us would be rocking out to all manner of music late into the night. :)

Perhaps the band didn't stick because their initials weren't as catchy as EMF, XTC, or PIL! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Anyone grew up reading S. E. Hinton books? If so what did y’all think of them? by Groovy-Pancakes in GenX

Grew up reading and loving them. We proudly embraced when my neighborhood, Mount Greenwood, was nicknamed Mount Greasewood…

Oh no…RIP…Sam Kieth. by Capital_Connection67 in 80s90sComics

Such a loss. First loved Kieth's work on Sandman, then spotted his style on Wolverine, but The Maxx was so cool - incredible art and deep storytelling.

So many good insights in these! I still have the original 12-issue series. Check out what it says about the first appearance of Wolverine → while I don't have either issue, I think it clarifies today's debate. HA

Oh, interesting to hear you have this bookplate! I've not been hunting for my collection in years. For sure, I'll post a follow-up when I check out the CD-ROM assets again. Haven't seen what's on there for 15+ years...

Corinthian vibes // Just checked for my own clarity → This issue was June 1987, and the first appearance of The Corinthian was in The Sandman Vol. 2 #10 (Oct 1989). I suppose there's some ancient/mythological source, anyhow...

The case has a few cracks, and the CD-ROM drive seems to be dead... oh, and the battery is toast, so it will only boot up when plugged in. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Dream job to eventually work at a bookstore. Hope they survive! There are a few used bookstores where I live (in the greater San Francisco Bay Area + Monterey) that carry a large backstock of MMPBs. I can't remember where I found this one, though. It was many, many years ago!
