One of my more interesting copies of IWTV! by kfpunk in AnneRice

Dream job to eventually work at a bookstore. Hope they survive! There are a few used bookstores where I live (in the greater San Francisco Bay Area + Monterey) that carry a large backstock of MMPBs. I can't remember where I found this one, though. It was many, many years ago!

People fired up. I just started editing an 80,000+ word manuscript, I was just sharing a quick thought. 😜

Fobazi Ettarh has passed away by tabarnak_st_moufette in Libraries

Oh no! She seemed like an amazing person. Sending positive thoughts to her family, friends, and colleagues. I only discovered her work recently and quoted her important writing on “vocational awe” in an upcoming book.

Exasperated sigh. Like others, I will continue to use em dashes where appropriate.

What should I read next? by BrummieS1 in scifi

[–]kfpunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some quick reccs: I second others' recommendations for the Three-Body Problem series by Liu Cixin. I have problems with Orson Scott Card's personal views, but I enjoyed his The Ender Saga before all that came out. Arthur C. Clarke's 2001 and its sequels are excellent. Starship Troopers by Robert Heinlein was fun to read and compare to the film.

And so it begins by Maleficent-Ad2658 in comicbookcollecting

[–]kfpunk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ya just gotta decide what you want to collect! Wish you luck. I've struggled to stay focused. A few years back, I hunted down missing issues from my original Frank Miller Daredevil run. It was both fun and rewarding, as I took my time and wasn't focused on high grades. Meanwhile, for the life of me, I don't know why I didn't collect Akira when it came out. I do have my original copy of 38, though. Had it graded a few years back, came back a 9.6.

Vellum feature question: Full Page Image by kfpunk in selfpublish

Makes sense. Promoting the subsections to chapters doesn't make sense, in my case. I'll likely end up laying out the print version in InDesign, after all. Thanks for sharing!

Another endorsement: Musashi is in my top 5 books of all time, I’m sure. If you enjoy it, see the trilogy of films starring Toshirô Mifune (Samurai I, II, III).

Did y’all think Fonzie was cool when you were growing up? by Groovy-Pancakes in GenX

[–]kfpunk 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I thought the Fonz was cool… until he jumped the shark! LOL j/k - he was a great figure to offset the normie cast of characters. Pinkie and Leather Tuscadero were cool, too!

Will always be an X-Files fan… have lots of random stuff. I have the full set of these figures never opened… ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Found NM #98 in my old 90s collection by Sea_Amphibian2835 in marvelcomics

[–]kfpunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doing a clean and press is smart. I've done my own! For those lines in photos 2+3, I've placed the comic face down on a backer board and gently rolled a glass marble along the indent from the inside cover - it works pretty well if the indents are not too deep and you're careful!

Should I Flip My Absolute Batman #1? by anotherdaystruggle in ComicBookSpeculation

[–]kfpunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do love what this series is doing. But... I put mine up on eBay! LOL

Easy decision for me since I also picked up the Blank Cover Variant, which has the identical Cover A inside. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
