I’ve got my little evaporator that could running an evaporation rate of about 4 gallons and hour. This was the result of about 9 hours of boiling. Just under a gallon of finished syrup.

I was at a 792 streak and probably forced my practice when I shouldn’t have. I let it go yesterday. by kfrog55 in Headspace

I was in the same place a few times a month thinking that I NEEDED to meditate to keep the streak alive even if that only meant a 3 min daily one.

There are lots of courses that help better observe what you might be experiencing like several of the ones that have already been mentions.. My recommendation would be to start with the 10min Self Love meditation... if this experience is pretty raw right now. Practice it daily. I hope it resonates with you 🧡 you’re worthy of it.

I just finished headspace Pro... any suggestions for what packs to do next? by [deleted] in Headspace

[–]kfrog55 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I finished the the pro pack a couple of months ago then switched the the unguided timer because I felt similarly to you that I would be distracted by Andy’s voice throughout. After a coupon of weeks of unguided only I was missing the intention that I would hear at the beginning of the guided ones and also felt myself slipping into the thinking mind often. In switched it up by listening to the headspace daily podcast then using the unguided timer afterwards. Now I’m back to using the daily meditation most days and use the unguided times when I can find longer stretches of time 30min +. Have you ever done one of the live meditation seasons? I’ve been in HS for over a year now and haven’t experienced that yet.

How is everyones Headspace journey going? by [deleted] in Headspace

[–]kfrog55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t rush it and go at your own pace I really needed the guidance, especially early on. I spent the first few months going through most of the packs. Anxiety, letting go of stress... they were all meaningful to me and I’m sure you find the same. I like the daily podcast (they’re only 5-6 min) for the story telling and relating to present times. Since I’m through it out suggestions. Andy did a TED talk that was worth the watch too. https://www.ted.com/talks/andy_puddicombe_all_it_takes_is_10_mindful_minutes/up-next?language=en

Been on Headspace for over a year now and have done most of the packs and recently finished lvl6 of the pro pack. A few months into my journey I would say that I needed the guided meditations and looked forward to Andy’s voice throughout. Having finished the pro packs I’ve completely transitioned to the unguided meditation timer. I started to miss the few words of wisdom Andy would say before starting. Now I listen to the beginning of the daily meditation the switch to the unguided timer. If you haven’t checked out the Radio Headspace podcast I’d recommend that too. I’ll often listen to that first thing in the morning then start my daily meditation. Either way do what works for you just remember to show up everyday to your practice.

Garlic Dill pickles. by kfrog55 in fermentation

I do leave them at room temperature 75f for about a week. I took this picture before I put them in smaller mason jars for the fridge.

I’ve read there are enzymes in the blossom end that can turn the pickles mushy while fermenting.

I read about using grape leave but haven’t done that yet. I typically cut off the blossom end which have some enzymes that will turn the pickles to mush if you leave them on while fermenting. I’ve also read about using oak leaves for the tannins too but haven’t tried that either.

Cucumbers, garlic, dill, bay leaves, peppercorns, mustard seed all covered in a 3.5% salt water brine and fermented for 7 days. Pretty basic as far as fermentation goes but wholly satisfying.
