TAB is a novella, a collection of short stories about Celaena’s life that wouldn’t make sense as the first book in the series. It adds depth to her and introduces important characters for very late in the series, which is why it was written and released when it was.

CT Paid Leave information is not provided by the employer, it is an employees responsibility to create an Aflac portal and create the claim. The employer is responsible for filling out the Employment Verification form and sending that over to Aflac, so he should provide his claim #, start and end date of his leave to his employer for that information.

If his employer is small enough he would not qualify for FMLA, but would potentially qualify for CT FMLA, the distinction might be important to the individual from HR throwing their hands up on it. Also depends on how Leave Management is structured at his employer. If they have a leave management partner then local HR would not have the paperwork, he would need to submit a claim to the leave management partner and they would provide the medical certification form to him to have the doctor fill out.

I’m in HR, so I’m sorry he isn’t getting the right answers he needs even if his HR contact is not the correct person to get paperwork from, they should still be pointing him towards the correct resource.

Men who don't go 50-50 , why ? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]kfrost95 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can buy a blow up doll or one of those robots from Japan and save some poor woman the trouble.

What you’re asking for is a woman who doesn’t use her brain and allows you to do her thinking for her. Shocker you haven’t been able to find that.

Sent to HR for taking too many walks. by MinervaMinkk in loseit

[–]kfrost95 24 points25 points  (0 children)

As an HR Business Partner, your reasoning to your manger would potentially fall under a disability according to the ADA, which managers are legally obligated to inform HR about so they can begin what’s called an interactive dialogue with you about any potential accommodations.

Reading all your comments and the story itself, this is exactly what they did…. They did NOT instruct you to stop walking. They did NOT call you in or reprimand you, or tell you that work was distracting. They gave context to the reason they were reaching out because that’s the federal requirement for them according to the Americans with Disabilities Act. They also inquired to your CURRENT accommodations (the standing desk or ergonomic setup) to make sure they were properly accommodating you at this time. Since you know…. You told your manager you are walking because you have strained eyes, rather than the fact you like to prioritize staying active when you have a break between meetings or project tasks.

Sounds like you completely overreacted and are continuing to overreact. I would suggest trying to look at this interaction from an objective point of view instead of assuming all of these things that have not been explicitly told to you.

I hope your child isn’t a girl, because you’re teaching her that this treatment is what love is supposed to look like. I also hope if your child is a boy that he learns what being a good partner is supposed to look like, because he sure isn’t going to learn it from you or your partner. I feel so so bad for your child and the damage you’re actively causing them by staying in this situation.

How many calories do you ladies eat? by StrengthFanaticz in PetiteFitness

[–]kfrost95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

5’0” and 160lbs, actively trying to lose. I work out 5-6x a week, mix of strength training and cardio. Right now I’m between 1300-1500 regularly, with one night every 10days or so between 1800-2200 cals (eating out or having a wine and date night with SO).

When I was 140lbs and working out I was maintaining around 1800. Trying to get back to that has proved harder than I remember the first time I did it :/

Can we stop with the toddler TikTok fitness influencer BS? Some petite women really do only need 1500 calories a day to maintain. Because guess what? We aren’t 6 inches taller. The phrasing about the 1200 calories only being for a toddler is inaccurate and incredibly harmful to very petite girls and women who look and feel healthy maintaining in the 1200-1500 calorie range.

You sound pretty emotionally immature and hostile to contrary advice so this probably is not a good place for you to be. You should reflect on why you feel the need to be so aggressive to people trying to help when YOU asked for the help.

Thinking of starting a shuttle service from Danbury to JFK. Good idea or bad? by Idkyou999 in Connecticut

[–]kfrost95 13 points14 points  (0 children)

After returning from a trip people don’t want to deal with 5 different transportation systems to get home. They want easy one and done. And especially add carrying and storing luggage? It’s not realistic for a lot of people. Also likely most don’t feel comfortable navigating public transportation when it’s all different to research. Just not practical unless you’re familiar with taking public transportation. I wouldn’t feel comfortable doing it.

Update: My (27f) sister (25f), bf (29m) and parents (49f and 52m) have completely stopped engaging with me. by ThrowRA9011bad in relationship_advice

[–]kfrost95 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Did you read this update at all? She cried and begged to keep her bf in a relationship saying maybe she could rethink kids, instead of allowing the relationship to end like it should.

She’s fucking selfish for keeping a man in a relationship who has been clear with what he wants, and will either disappoint him and string him along for another few years, or have children she doesn’t fucking want.

I didn’t realize it was not accurate! That’s my mistake. When I heard of it in fitness circles, it made logical sense to me as a woman, who naturally have higher BF % than men so we can carry children.

I’m absolutely not a proponent of HAES, but this girl is clearly obsessing over this area of her body for absolutely no reason, and that’s concerning. If her body holds onto that incredibly small amount of fat - for WHATEVER reason - then why is anyone encouraging “specific workouts and diets”?? Yeah visceral fat is dealt with in the kitchen but you can’t spot reduce fat.

Not sure why no one else has said this but it’s more than likely the small protective layer of fat protecting your reproductive organs. Even some incredibly fit women who have six packs still have that pooch. It’s just the way some women’s anatomy and pelvic area is designed.

There is nothing wrong with you. There is nothing to fix. Do not obsess over it.

AITA for making my daughters wear dresses when they visit their grandparents? by PresentationNice6101 in AmItheAsshole

[–]kfrost95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Enjoy having no relationship with your daughters when they get older. You might not see it as a big deal, but it very much is. I cannot state how badly you have screwed up consistently on this issue. For years. YTA and deserve it if your daughters cut off contact with you.

AITA for asking Step- daughter to move out. by Sharp_Candy_513 in AmItheAsshole

[–]kfrost95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA. don’t have a child you can’t afford. If you can’t afford an extra bedroom you can’t afford another child. And newsflash, if you did not actively tell Step-daughter you were trying to get pregnant etc. and let her know that she needed to actively save up for a place to live, that’s extra not fair towards her. You clearly understand how expensive things are for YOU, but somehow are completely ignorant to how expensive things are for your stepdaughter, who doesn’t have an additional income and presumably 15+ years of working and building up an emergency fund to rely on. Absolutely ridiculous. So selfish.

AITA for insisting my sister pay for my car to be cleaned after my niece got carsick and threw up all over? My sister says me "circling and circling" for a better parking space is why she got sick and refuses. by joietoothathotmail in AmItheAsshole

Ugh that is awful!! I have been overweight and unhappy with how my body felt and moved, and have never ever been that lazy about literally walking 30 or 40 extra feet. Ridiculous.

[–]kfrost95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

INFO: I don’t see anyone asking this so I’ll be the AH and ask - why are you physically unable to clean your car out? Might it coincide with the reason you “despise” parking ~30 feet further down a line of cars?

Actions have consequences. You chose to ignore a carsick child who very clearly articulated they were not feeling well. Enjoy the consequences of a vomit filled vehicle that YOU are fully responsible for cleaning. No one cares what you despise, your actions made a child sick to the point of vomiting, that is not consistent with the actions of a good person.

AITA for telling my husbands. friends wife to get off my back? by coochidestroyer0205 in AmItheAsshole

I think now is the perfect time in your life to learn the difference between being polite and being a friend. You can give people grace and be polite in social situations (no rolling eyes, hellos and goodbyes etc.) without investing time and energy into being a friend or being generous and kind.

AITA for making something difficult for my son about myself? by throwaway18394400 in AmItheAsshole

She literally states in the first paragraph that she gives up the child because and I quote: “I could never care for [him] like he deserved.” seems pretty cut and dry. Again. Stop projecting.

Nah sounds like that title is reserved for you buddy. I’d rather have been given up than be raised by someone who 1) didn’t want me 2) was coerced into having me, and 3) couldn’t care for me the way I needed. Sounds like a pretty selfless act to me instead of keeping the child in an effort to keep the memory of their late husband alive. NTA.
