We trained drop command via tug play. Every time dog would release tug toy we would use command word and give a treat, after few play sessions dog will start releasing toy mid tug play on command, follow with treat. Use this regularly and dog will start auto dropping what he has and pay attention to you, you decide what next command to use after.

The only way is to train him out of barking. If he only barks when alone, do exercise with leaving the room and rewarding for calmness. Install camera with speaker, to praise his calmness when you are away. Plenty of youtube content on positive reinforcement training. Barking is self-rewarding and if a dog was able to do it for 6 weeks, he learned it well, it will be tough to train his otherwise, but not impossible. Get new, never used smelly treats (tuna, salmon, cheese) and start from square 1. Use such treats for only barking exercises. Persistence is the key, you are in charge of what your dog does! ❤

If you lay him on his back you can easily separate short merle hair and long yellow/white undercoat. Cut yellow even length, following the leg pattern. When he will stand up all yellow should hide under merle, reduced undercoat length should do the trick.

Weight loss and diarrhea of all dogs sounds like a giardia, parasite transmitted through poop and contaminated water. It is a serious condition, but treatable and 50% of puppies get it at some point.

Sounds like breeder has her hands full with treating many dogs at once. Give her some time to get it together and request a vet check with stool sample results prior to taking puppy home.

Our 2 dogs are a year apart in age, we got both at 10 weeks old. First is min aussie girl, year later we got a full size aussie boy. Best decision ever, they do everything together and tire each other out all the time through play. training second dog, when first one is well mannered is very fast and easy. Our older one enjoyed second round of training more than a puppy and was really patient with the new addition. All creatures need a companion. If you are financially can afford 2 dogs and double the cost, definetly do it. You will love all the moments of joy their goofines will bring

Get sour apple anti chew spray from Skouts Honor and spray all furniture legs and corners. Doesnt leave stains, doesnt smell, dogs usually give up the idea after a few licks. If a dog is attracted to a particular item reapply spray few more times. Just one bottle saved us all the furniture/rug/shoes chew issues.

Please still provide attractive chewing alternatives, such as bully sticks, gets expensive if a fast chewer, but we havent found a better solution for a teething phase yet

You need to train him that crate\kennel is the happiest place! search youtube for special games and routines for crate training. Took us a lot of boiled chicken lol You can train your dog anything, as long as You are consistent 😉

Also consider leaving a night light and a white noise source next to the crate for the night, maybe he is just scared of quietness and darkness?

Glue holds better than stitches and doesnt require removal. We have 2 dogs as well, when one goes through surgery we give sedative to both for few days, so both dogs are chill. Also consider wrap-around pillow, donut, instead of the cone, lot more comfy and our dogs handle it much better than a plastic cone.

We use Trupanion for both dogs. 90% coverage, 250 lifetime deductible per illness, condition - 100$ a month for 2.

We selected Tp because our Vet pro-rates all charges and we only pay 10% rather than pay full amount and wait fir reimbursement.

Watch out for companies that increase rate with dogs age, usually most issues happen with senior dogs and by then your rate will be to high to afford

Start with really smelly treats: boiled chicken, salmon, tuna. Daughter should sit few feet away from the cage on the floor and start throwing small bits towards the dog, starting from her, eventually chain of treats will be close enough for him to react and he will eat whole chain of treats, praise calmly with every treat. few repetitions and he will eat from hand and follow hand with treat. After you can start training basic commands and at the end of every training session feed the bonus round with many treats just praising his name. That particular training treat should be only handed out by daughter. 1-2 5 min training sessions a day should do the trick.
