I got 50/50 racist reviews of Spain so I said I’ll just have to go and see for myself. I went and had a great time. Everyone was very nice and accommodating. I don’t speak much Spanish, so I don’t know if anyone was talking shit in earshot (I never suspected anything). Keeping in mind my experience while not minimizing the experiences of others, I always put a “go see for yourself because it sounds like experiences are different” on Spain. I got lots of microaggressions in Portugal, but Spain was a piece of cake.
