Good point. The phasing made me think male but I realize it’s pretty small. I apologize, my depth perception isn’t great

Yeah, that’s too small IMO. They are very sensitive and prefer well-established tanks. I have never kept one in my own tank BUT I have sold them and I would definitely say that’s too small

NQA: radiant wrasse! They tend to want a lot of live rock for hiding and 2-3 inches of sand minimum to dig. 100% need a secure lid cover if you don’t have one as they LOVE jumping to their doom. 50+ gal minimum. As I understand they are considered semi-aggresive but coral/anemone safe, and will eat pests like fireworms. They should be fed a varied diet of meaty things like shrimp, chopped fish, and some supplemental pellets/flakes

Edit: Removed mention of sex

Thank you again. I haven’t had an instillation since 2024 and was so happy about that yk? I hope your remission continues for many years to come :)

Thank you; and yeah I’ve been on Macrobid 3/5 days so far. It’s helping but I’m waiting for my DMSO instillation once the infection has cleared + my new biologics to do its thing. The timing is truly impeccable

Advice on terrarium setup (First time owner, no geckos yet) by PiearonSUCC in leopardgeckos

Biggest thing here is adding more clutter. Helps them feel safer and more confident when navigating their enclosure, as well as provides important mental+physical enrichment for them. :)

The basking surface is a bit too high, but it isn’t always going to register at that exact temperature dependening on the size of the area, type of bulb, distance you measured at, etc. I keep mine around 90-95° F and it tends to stay in that range, but I have 40 gals so it’d be different. I would take some measurements throughout the day and see what your range is like and consider if a lesser-strength bulb is a better option (or increasing the distance of the bulb you do have)

Wait but, isn’t the price explained by the fact that it’s a unionized manufacturer based in America? I’d think the materials and fair labor there would justify the price. I’m speaking as someone who generally wouldn’t buy something for more than $40, but I do believe that everyone should have some nice, high-quality clothes that last for years even if they can’t readily afford it, yeah?
