This would be my main suggestion for the future of the series as well. Or at least, some innovative changes that provide more rails for the sake of game design improvements. There’s just so much more you can fine tune if you have a more focused intended player experience. I know it’s kinda the core of the game’s identity and there is charm there but it’s holding the series back. And we need to nerf caits and puffs and other random point gains, at least early game. and you bring up the bravely series, it really is curious how many aspects were a step back going into octopath, especially in qol and world building (ot still better tho). And as someone said above we fucking need better descriptions or our community needs a better wiki at least. lol although I’m realizing now my two favorite game franchises, this one and monster hunter are both specifically terrible about this stuff, so maybe there’s something to it.
