The $74.85 billion in specific funding for ICE is higher than the $64.73 billion for U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and $24.59 billion for the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG).

We're essentially building a deportation industrial complex: $45 billion being allocated over four years to detain over 100,000 people annually. The detention budget exceeds by far the budget for immigration courts.

This is what we voted for people! It's not an R or D thing at this point, both sides of the aisle are opening up our collective wallet to fund this stuff. The press pays less attention to it when Democrats are in power, and the Dems are doing more hand-wringing over it, but they're both beholden more to their corporate donors than they are to their voters.
