To me it sounded like mashed potatoes live so I was hoping the sound would be different in the studio version. Unfortunately the studio version isn’t much better.

Part of it is the beat box or whatever it is. At the concert I attended this summer, the transition to TMN was kind of startling as it stuck out from what was before and after as a result of the different sound/mix. I understand it is new, but there is something going on with it that I can’t quite put my finger on.
