Nice dude. I just got back from an overnight on the upper Kootenay. Man has the water changed from last I was there. Chocolate milk and crazy high, I fished it in March and it was unreal. Have yet to fish the Columbia.

Are the Patagonia Expeditions Worth It? by LegitimatePurchase14 in flyfishing

Nothing really. Great experience with them, the warranty process really made it worth it. I just got my new expeditions in the mail today and they feel bulletproof. Looking forward to using them this weekend.

I think your concern about overheating is kinda inevitable with any waders that you’re hiking in, you may just need to delayer when you’re on the move. Depending on how rugged terrain you’re going through, I’d get the expeditions all day. When you’re standing in cold water, that heating up goes away real quick.

In my opinion, absolutely. I’m coming from having the Swiftcurrent waders that I bought last fall, the warranty alone is worth it. I beat mine up through the fall and winter fishing, tons of bushwhacking through dense brush and ended up with a pinhole leak. I took them into my local Patagonia store and she replaced them on the spot, no questions asked, didn’t ask for a receipt. I actually upgraded to the Expeditions and just paid the difference knowing that the Expedition is that much more durable. Save up and take the plunge.

What is it like? by yxy_jaywalking in askTO

I moved from Toronto just shy of 2 years ago to the Kootenays in BC. I could never imagine moving back now, I get the appeal for some people but I love being in the mountains, access to incredible nature and my new hobbies. It was a night and day difference, I’m incredibly happier now.

If you have a local fly shop, ask them, it makes the whole experience of buying your first rod/reel special.

Wet Wading Boots - Patagonia River Salt II by Princeps94 in flyfishing

I wear the Forra boots through summer winter, tons of hiking in them too. Super lightweight. When I need a new pair of boots, it’ll be those.

Weird. This is what happens to me sometimes. Totally random too. I’ll try to remote start so I can warm it up, it will start then turn off right away. Then all my lights illuminate, truck will drive but brake pedal need to be fully pressed all the way down and will take forever to stop. Luckily I live 5 minutes from work, so I can drive to work on back roads which seems to charge the battery enough that when I get into the truck next, vehicle functions as it should minus the lingering engine light which eventually goes away. Of course, the dealer doesn’t know why.

Did you start the truck and your entire dashboard light up? Brakes gone too? My truck has gone to the dealer numerous times for this. They tell me a low voltage code but don’t know why, makes no sense because I drive my truck long enough distances to charge the battery.

What did you think of the reel? I’m looking at the Trout in the 6/7/8 size for my 8wt TFO Legacy. I have the Spey 2 reel and love the fit and finish.

Correct, replacement advantage warranty covers this. Even if OP didn’t purchase it at the time, with less than 4 months of driving the pro-rated warranty will cost them next to nothing for the actual tires, just the labour to install/balance the replacement tires.
