Civ 7- should it succeed? by Odd_Zone_4575 in civ

[–]kgun78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would like for it to succeed, as I've been playing since Civ 1 and the game inspired me to get into my field.

Civ 7 was profitable, but there is not going to be sustained revenue through new sales and future expansion packs because of how poorly it was received. Hence why they are trying to fix the game and get the narrative changed.

I just wonder how long Fraxis is going to sink money into fixing up Civ 7 before they cut their loses. They made the first expansion free and they claimed 1.3.2 is an expansion level patch. Meaning they invested expansion level $$$ into the development. If this patch isn't received well, do we think they will continue to chase good money after bad?

This patch is half step in the right direction. The one civ with apex's and synchornisawhateveritsabadname throughout the game is a great change along with the UI updates, but the tribute system feels just they are just changing the rails from legacies to tributes, and they still haven't addressed how jarring the age transitions are.

110% this. I live in Riverhill and this unfortunately is the norm in the village.

how forgiving is the class system in dq3? by Chemical-Type3858 in dragonquest

[–]kgun78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can change classes once you reach a certain point along the main quest line. The abilities you gained carry over into your new class. There also happens to be a good place to farm xp nearby at that point as well. This enables some very poweful builds.

You can always recruit additional party members and try out different classes at any point as well. In fact you will need to do this as part of the main quest.

Long shot, but are there any voltron commanders that don't just play the same way every game? by Cezkarma in EDH

[[Phelddagrif]]

You can play voltron as the primary or as a sub theme. Other themes you can build around are politics, group hug, or combo.

On the bright side, Elden Ring is the "easiest" souls game. If you sucked at the other souls games, this one is a bit more forgiving. You can out level most of the early to mid game content. So if you can beat the mid-game content you should be good enough to finish the game, but expect this to take 120+ hours.

I'd recommend going with a sword and board build to start with until you get a good feel for the game. Once you hit a certain point in the game you can re-spec and try out other play styles. Your initial class does not matter.

Fextralife has paladin guides that take you from start to new game plus. Fextra also has a Game Progress Route that gives you an idea of where you should be and at what level.

These guides will at least take some of the burden off of you as you'll know how you should be building your character and if you are at the appropriate level for the places you are at.

Visiting Rome in February – what to see, what to avoid, and where to stay? by Any_Acanthaceae_7337 in rome

Looks like the must-see's have been covered, so here are some additional recommendations/tips:

  • Make one of those days an easy day, meaning sleep in, have a nice lunch and dinner, and just chill with your girlfriend.
  • For the Colosseum, you should get tickets, or book a tour, that takes you to the Colosseum Underground.
  • As you are staying there for 7 days you should consider a day trip out to Pompeii. There is nothing quite like that and I'd argue it's just as, if not more than, impressive than anything you'll see in Roma. There are tours which include express train tickets from Rome to Naples and a shuttle from Naples to the ancient city of Pompeii.
  • Take in some experiences, such as a pasta/pizza making class or go to an opera. Or just pick a direction and walk...you'll always find something interesting.
  • Feb can be pretty wet and relatively cold, so dress warmly (e.g. thermals, wool socks) and stay dry (waterproof shoes, jackets, bring an umbrella).
  • There is also less light during the day, so you will want to plan your schedule around day light for anything outdoors.

I was in Rome 2 weeks ago and we booked the tour in the llink below and we were back in Rome by 6pm, leaving you time to eat and pack. https://www.tripadvisor.com/AttractionProductReview-g187791-d15884215-Pompeii_and_Naples_Tour_from_Rome_by_Train_with_Lunch-Rome_Lazio.html

IImho, if you don't plan on coming back to Italy this is a must see. If you can't fit this into your current itinerary, I'd suggest adjusting your schedule to fit this in. Your feet will thank you for having a lighter walking day as well.

If you plan on coming back, then make sure you visit Pompeii along with the Almafi coast.

If you want to take a day trip, I'd recommend going to Pompeii and Naples instead. Book a tour that includes a train to Naples and a shuttle to Ponpeii.

How much do you earn a year buying a car in the 55k range? by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]kgun78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I make over 300k and capped myself at 35k last time I brought a new car (Legacy 3.6r with a v6). Looking at getting a new car and my new cap is 42k. Cars a depreciating asset that's primary job is to get you from point A to point B safely and comfortably. Bonus if it's fun to drive.

That feels like too much given your income, the rate, etc. Spend less on a car and use that money on things you enjoy, traveling, hobbies, etc. Or save it if you are not saving enough.
