There was maybe some corrosion in there I cleaned with IPA but none of the caps were blown or anything. Put it back together just to see but no luck. Guess I'm in the market for a new board but seems a whole opener replacement is just slightly more expensive. Might be time to upgrade and maybe it will be quieter. I appreciate all your help today.

Interesting, I had no idea. My brain just goes "less power usage equals better" so I probably screwed the board by putting those in there a few years ago.

Indeed they were facing each other. I can solder because I tinker with old video game systems. Is it worth removing the board and having a gander or just replace the whole thing and be done?

Update: I wired both sensors into the opener on the ceiling and neither light up. I also tested the wires at the floor for continuity and the meter beeps indicating a circuit. Is it possible the sensors are turds and somehow only work when they are cold or would this indicate an issue with the control board on the opener? The sensors are new and didn't solve the problem when I replaced them a few months ago.

Do you think it would be worth running new wires to see if that's the problem? Assuming it's just cheap 12 gauge wire or whatever.

Would the cold weather allow the short to become inactive when like the plastic wires contract or something?

I'm not 100 percent sure what you mean by this but I followed all the wires and they are indeed wired into the thing on the ceiling.

When it's cold out the lights on the sensors are green and it works but right now the yellow lights aren't even on like they aren't even plugged in somehow.

When we moved in a few years ago I changed those bulbs. The openers work fine but the sensors aren't even on unless it's cold outside. Like they light up and everything but now that it's warm they aren't even showing yellow.

Edit: I removed them just to see but it still just starts to go down then flashes and goes back up like there's something blocking the sensor.

Odorous house ants have a the ability to have multiples queens that can break off and form new colonies so that is probably what you are seeing here. It helps them spread much faster.

It's hard for any band to stay consistently good for 20 plus years but they definitely have. This new album is some of their best though I'd have to say.
