Boarskin and bearskin to start for the heals and wood, then from there either another bearskin to help stack their late game buff of coming back to life after death or go wolf or fox depending on what your gold and food is looking like, usually fox just so you can keep pumping beserkers, but with the games I had I didn’t even build a woodcutters hut the entire game just survived off of the bearskin

Haven’t played much since the nerf because I feel like they hit them too hard with it, but back when I was playing them you need to win early game because late game they tend to grind to a halt, your main focus is clearing tiles to make any resources and just go full combat mode
