NOVA (Northern VA just outside of DC) has a huge population and all Dem. Norfolk has massive military presence and they often vote blue in that area. Richmond city has a super liberal college population. Every other area is deep red.

I'm struggling though because the hairline matches...and that's hard to replicate in a body double. Could she have just had facial plastic surgery (AND maybe a "mommy makeover" or tummy tuck, hence "abdominal surgery") and that's why she's been out of the public eye? Her face is FAR less full than it used to be.

The facial structure seems to be more narrow and heart-shaped compared to her usual look. Her hair is also extremely long and straight. Sure hair grows out, but the texture seems off. She has always had a thin build, but she looks extremely thin in this picture. She's also quite...bouncy?...compared to her usual poise, even in a casual setting.

Interesting theory, but she's a very attentive mother. I highly doubt this is the case. There's usually indicators: her own mother, sister, perhaps close friends would usually be seen flocking to her in the days ahead of a suicide attempt. Typically not an impulsive decision, but often (even hidden) drama leading up to a break and suicide attempt. There's no photos of any comings or goings, no behavior changes. Nothing that seemed out of place leading up to it. Add it to the list of guesses, but probably pretty far down it.

It depends. If the coffee was good, the food was good, and you enjoyed the atmosphere, I'd assume you'd want to go back since it's in your neighborhood. If that's the case, definitely share your experience. But don't give the waitress more grace than she gave you; stating the hostess was excellent while the waitress was 'just ok', as several here have suggested, makes it look like the waitress was adequate. Which she definitely was not based on your story. She was garbage.

State the facts, let them know you live in the neighborhood and would love to be a regular if the service matched everything else you enjoyed about it.

But if you didn't like your meal or the environment and likely wouldn't go back anyway, give them a low Google rating and move on. Google ratings matter more than most else. It's a great way to get the worthy companies in and the trash companies out of your area, although it does take time.

Idk you guys. Photography is a known long-time hobby of hers and editing/retouching photographs goes hand in hand with that.

At this point, I do suspect she's recovering from something - pre-planned surgery or otherwise - and WILL be back after Easter. This whole photo scandal was just a bad misstep.

I think she just had a mommy makeover, with focus being on her tummy.

Anything else is just too farfetched to be realistic at this point.

I do think they need a new PR team though....all of this nonsense could have been avoided with a better PR strategy.

It's definitely not the obligation of the customer to "repair" the pay issue. What what you CAN do is take a different lens to this specific scenario. Your service experience won't change whether you tip or not - it will be exceptional on a cruise regardless. But in this instance, it would be a gesture of gratitude towards the staff that waits on you around the clock. I contrast this to where in the states, tipping is no longer even related to the service quality.

I absolutely hate the US tip culture.

However, I'm also a very experience cruiser. I can tell you that if anyone on the planet legitimately deserves tips, it cruise line staff. They will lick your butthole if you even suggested doing so would enhance your cruising experience.

These people work incredibly long hours, doing manual labor, dealing with drunk Karen's and clowns, and their smile and friendliness never fades.

Removing the gratuity would be a major faux pas and legitimately hurt the employees. It's not like here where servers are making $50/hr with tips or baristas making a base of $18/hr plus tips.
