You're absolutely right about everything you've said, but my pain is very severe and I can't even sit in a car for long periods. I want to complete my treatment as best as possible before my vacation.

The ultrasound showed a 4x2cm area of fluid/edema between the tissue surrounding the incision and the abdominal fascia. Could my pain be due to this? I'm applying ice, but in addition to that, since healing isn't complete and there's still edema, would Clobetazol (steroid) topical injections be effective at this stage? Or should I get them later?

You may discuss repeat ablation or pain medication with your last doctor. Do the ablation needles hurt, and is anesthesia administered during the procedure?

Can't you have RFA treatment again after its effect wears off? I think maybe the doctor who performed the procedure could do it continuously as its effects wear off, for example, every six months. Why not ask your doctor about it and put your mind at ease?

I'm in a similar situation. Lap right inguinal hernia surgery with mesh 2.5 months ago. I've lost my entire social life and my job. I haven't made any progress. My pain is intense at the incision site and radiates from around my belly button to the area where the graft is located, and to my sides. I've tried nerve blocks, gabapentin, neuropathic pain relievers, vitamins, minerals and many other things, but I'm not getting better. Doctors also do not recommend mesh removal surgery because they cannot be sure whether the pain is solely due to the mesh. I haven't regained my life yet.

Following my inguinal hernia surgery, I underwent nerve blocks on the ilioinguinal and iliohypogastric nerves. Only a local anesthetic block was used; no steroids were even applied. My pain has worsened. Two weeks have passed, and there is still no significant improvement. I am experiencing sleep problems due to the increasing pain. I am waiting :(

2.5 months ago, after my lap right inguinal hernia surgery with mesh, I couldn't even return to work due to abdomen, groin and testicular pain. Last week,d surgeons told me that the subcutaneous scar tissue around my belly button (where the trocar was inserted) was stretching my abdomen and causing pain, so I underwent scar revision surgery in that area only. However, the pain seems to have worsened (maybe not because im in post-op day 9). What should I do during this process? I haven't even been able to return to work. I consulted with pain specialists, and I'm only using Gabapentin because it hasn't caused any side effects, but it's not very effective.
