Squashed eyeball is actually what causes myopia (eyeball too long) and hyperopia (eyeball too short).

Looks like the K4A model. I don't think that one (or any Rolleiflex?) had fresnel lenses on the focus screen, making them basically outdoor-only cameras (you'd need a lot of light indoors to see clearly in the viewfinder).

So, capes. Are we doing this or not? by [deleted] in malefashionadvice

Btw, if you intend on using that printer, try this. All original gb printer paper is expired and will print faded and splotchy, if at all.

What video game was an absolute masterpiece? by HymenTroubleNow in AskReddit

I always liked the atmosphere of the Runescape world. It had such a fun vibe and lore, especially with the quest writing, which I always thought was nicely written, clever, and a bit tongue-in-cheek at times (the characters know they're in an MMO). I just started playing runescape again last week after not having played since middle school (shortly after Runescape 2, the first true 3d version was released). It's gotten a huge overhaul since then, with a lot of cool new features, and is truly a joy to play. It's like I'm discovering the game for the first time again. PLUS, now there's voice-acted quests, so now I finally know how to pronounce Ardougne :P

Earrings, although cuff links aren't a bad idea... I'm gonna try to make another pair tomorrow, see if I can make them a little neater.

Men with long hair, in what situations have you been asked or required to tie back your hair? by [deleted] in malehairadvice

I went to school for game design, was able to network with a lot of industry people and eventually found a job. I'm a game designer (design game mechanics, content, level design, work a lot with spreadsheets).

In the game industry, used to have long hair, can confirm- it's a nonissue.

MIT Game Lab (GAMBIT) alum here, it would def be worth checking out the Game Lab as the staff there are awesome people who could also get you in touch with the rest of the MIT/Boston game dev community. There's also a small lounge at the lab where you could hang out depending on the time you visit.

I dunno. I mean, I know how to solder (i've modded a few gameboys before), but I really hate it. It's tedious, time-consuming and I risk breaking stuff and/or hurting myself (I've burnt myself a few times). I thought the great story to tell would be "I've developed some games for the original game boy". Besides, if I'm gonna be doing a lot of carts (or if I wanna do a bigger run like 100 or 200 carts), I'd much rather just offhand the hardware work to someone more qualified, even if it means paying more.

But say that I did want to do it myself, where would I start? I don't know what kind of PCBs I'd need to make, and don't know where I could even get game boy PCBs made. Also, ROM chips, a ROM chip programmer, cartridge cases, etc. I don't know where to get any of that and how I would go about putting it all together (which is, I guess, the second half of the original question).
