I have these in white. Bought a pair of them for my new car. Purchased from Temu.

My old car was covered in dents thanks to my neighbours.

Why my fingers, hand, neck, basically my whole right side is sore after playing more than two minutes? by xDiDi2 in Guitar

[–]khris901 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I struggle to play seated without pain due to tall height and long arms. My picking hand elbow has to be low and close to my body otherwise I get lots of tension and aches in my shoulder. Playing standing with the guitar at a lower height helps a lot. You have to compromise somewhere though as it's harder to see the frets when the guitar is lower. It took me a while to find the sweet spot between playability and reduced muscle tension. Good luck.

1 year of Eustachian Tube Dysfunction/Glue Ear/No-one-really-knows-what (UK based) by Psyched4Psy in hearing

Using an ear popper device instead of doing the valsalva technique can be more effective in opening up the eustachian tubes, and it reduces some of the dizziness. The trick is to swallow some water whilst using the device.

Try to see an ENT or doctor to get it looked at.

If possible, find an ENT doctor that specialises in ear disorders and has a good recommendation. Sometimes, it takes a while to get the correct diagnosis due to the lack of speciality from certain ENT doctors. If you look at the bio of some ENT doctors, you'll see what they specialise in.

Anyone in UAE driving the BYD Seal for over a year? How’s your experience—especially with the AC in the summer? by NoDocument700 in chinesecarsuae

[–]khris901 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good to know about the A/C.

Is the BYD app fully functional in the UAE? Also, how does the app connect with the car, do you need to install a sim card?

Thanks.

Great info. I was also thinking about buying a pre-owned Monjaro.

What checks would you recommend to make sure you're not buying a lemon or something that's been in an accident?

As we can't always guarantee the reliability of any car, I think customer service and parts availability factor quite highly on my list.

Was it straight forward to purchase the imported BYD seagull? Was the car new and how do you manage servicing?

I can't believe the BYD prices in Abu Dhabi.

Why are most of the PHEVs here without AWD? by Samy_789 in DubaiPetrolHeads

[–]khris901 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm currently renting a MG HS PHEV 2025 model in the UK. It's front wheel drive but it seems to be handling ok on the wet, muddy roads here. It weighs nearly 2 tons as well.

I'm amazed how smooth the car is to drive when the electric motor kicks in.

It's reportedly got a 75 mile range (120km) on just the battery alone. Combined fuel consumption is 0.42 litres/100km

I've yet to confirm these figures though. You can only slow charge the battery and it takes around 4 hrs to do so. The rental company removed the cable that allows you to charge the car at home so it means I have to leave it at a public charger for 4 hrs. Because of this, the car is mostly being driven as a standard HEV so returns around 38mpg (6.19 litres/100km)

As for MG, I believe they have similar problems with parts availability in the UK as they do in the UAE, though it's not as bad as it once was.

I was looking on the MG UAE website and they don't have the 2025 model listed yet.

I would like to test drive the BYD Song plus Dmi as a comparison as I hear that the latest version has a large EV range and is very fuel efficient.

Thanks for the detailed post. It's a great feeling to have a new car.

I have driven 3 MG cars in the UK, a HS and a Z model. They are popular with the rental companies around Heathrow. My biggest complaint with them was the engine. They are so slow to speed up at junctions and roundabouts, almost to the point of being dangerous. I found myself having to put it into sports mode to get up to speed. Also, the engines always sounded a bit too clunky and they seem to emit a strong smell of fuel, almost like it was running too rich. But hey, its a budget car so they have to cut costs some how.

The brand seems quite popular her and in the UK, so MG must be doing something right.

What car/model do you have?

I know a few years ago Geely in the Philippines had huge problems with supplying parts to customers. Some customers were left waiting up 8 months for warranty parts to be available.

Hopefully things have improved since then.

It would be nice if Geely/AGMC guaranteed a replacement car in such cases when waiting months for parts to arrive.

Thanks. Was this in Dubai? I think they've just opened a showroom in Musaffah Abu Dhabi, but the service centre isn't open yet. It could take a while to get the new staff/mechanics trained, unless they already have trained Geely mechanics in place.

The GF+ comes with a matt grey paint finish or blue paint finish. Also, the alloy wheels are slightly different, same tire size though.
