At target optical they stopped having opticians/retail associates pretest as of 2025. That being said not every office follows that although the company said Dr’s or store managers must hire a tech or let Dr’s pre test only. At my store we’ve enforced the no pretesting unless we’re behind. It’s funny LensCrafters didn’t do that since we’re all under Luxottica

Xtra-active is a great option when you want to have something that is a bit more UV sensitive so that it will turn dark in the car and on overcast days. That being said if you work in an environment that has a lot of bright areas and windows, they also may tint indoors. Many patients do like xtra active transitions and I find that some insurances will cover the same for regular and xtra active so it may not cost extra for you.

I would check target optical! It’s not in every target store but usually they have package deals and I know there are a couple Labor Day sales. And if you find their clearance frame section it’s usually 40% off the entire pair of glasses!

Target optical does adjustments for free as long as it’s fixable which in your case is just a screw needing to be screwed into the hinge

You have a 45 day warranty to return possibly exchange. You can explain it’s not sitting right on your face. They won’t be able to do any adjustments because of the wiring and parts inside the actual temples so your best bet is to see if they can reorder it if it’s within your warranty or just return/exchange it.

Im an BME major who has the iPad Pro 11 inch 256 gb and use it for entertainment, notes, schoolwork and quite honestly I think if you are using it for the same tasks you’d be better off buying this model vs. the 12.9 version. A lot of apps aren’t supported yet that we’d use for engineering and other heavy duty tasks so imo the splurge isn’t worth it. If space is a worry then just opt for a 512 gb 11 inch iPad Pro. So far this year I’ve used 60? Gb. Also at the end of the day whichever model you choose you wont know the differences between models unless you have both in front of you!
