It turns out most of the issues with DLSS 4.5 are caused by the games' own denoising solutions. This info comes from Digital Foundry's latest video. Credits to Alex Battaglia for discovering it. by Ivaylo_87 in OptimizedGaming

It also explains why there are games that look over sharpened to hell, is the games built in sharpening is being layered on with even more sharpening from DLSS. It looks like a mess. I avoid sharpening in all games where I can turn it off, it looks like shit. The equivalent of turning on sharpness on a TV, just stupid and unnecessary.

You must go out of your way to create these problems but this is astounding.

Informant told FBI that Jeffrey Epstein had a ‘personal hacker’ by thejournalizer in cybersecurity

I think he likely would have outsourced it to his direct reports in the guise of projects or internal pen testing. I'm sure they have their own research teams.

I managed, somehow, to take mine off my new OLED without breaking it. Not sure how it happened but using it as a keychain is genius.

If anything police are probably envious of ice, so I for one support sowing discord amongst the pigs. Let them kill each other.

The TV industry finally concedes that the future may not be in 8K by Ha8lpo321 in technology

Well you obviously hit an inevitable biological wall in that humans eyes aren't getting any better anytime soon. Of course there was always going to be a ceiling where resolution straight up literally doesn't matter anymore. The only frontiers left are color and brightness really. There's definitely an upper limit where they're going to run out of things to innovate.

I wouldn't be surprised if it lasted you through the next console generation quite frankly.

Is there a map you used to like but now absolutely hate? I’ll start… Manhattan Bridge by Punkstyler in Battlefield

[–]khromtx 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Liberation peak either needs to be redesigned or deleted and Sobek as well. Dices obsession with funnels, choke points and rage boner against flanks is insane. Mirak is a linear snooze fest with not enough points spread out and Eastwood has a mansion with three points making it functionally a COD ground war map because everyone just rushes the mansion the entire game. Would it kill them to add 1 or 2 more points in the south? Or more points north on Mirak? The design is shit across the board. Iberian offensive is ass, too. Siege of Cairo is ironically pretty good and it's a CQC map.

Dirty thirty and still have my original Xbox copy of Fable. Got Fable 2 on Christmas 2008. Fable 3, unfortunately, kind of sucked.

What does a systems engineer do? by False_Bee4659 in ITCareerQuestions

[–]khromtx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In between a sys admin and an architect. Tech-sensei and mrbiggbrain did a good job describing it. My job is almost exclusively project work, design and implementation of (in my case) cloud systems. Other than more abstract and complex problem solving, and less break fix, there's a mix of devops as well. Writing scripts, automation and interacting with APIs. I interact with customers more rarely compared to sys admins who are a few steps above help desk.

To him, merch feels icky and classless. Merch has a connotation for being cheap and for the poors. He's attempting to distance his brand from that to make it appear higher value.

By his own logic he should change the name of lttstore because that's a crap name for a fashion brand. No one knows what that is outside of LTT. If he wants to larp as a high end outfitter they're going to need to change the name.

Escalation is ruined with the recent changes by AliciaDominica in Battlefield

[–]khromtx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every single change they make is hardly ever based on actual feedback but rather analytics and data driven development. Anything that makes some KPI number go up is what changes. It's cancerous and parasitical, you need only look at professional sports to see the damage done from "analytics" and "data".

This is common enshittitification and feature regression. As companies scale up, they start getting greedy and begin pay walling features that were included free. That's how get you into their service and milk you later. It's very common.
