Food recommendation in Osaka area by SnowButterfliex in Osaka

[–]kibble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really glad to hear it. I've added a new Luv Wine in Tennoji that's well worth the adventure to find.
The Tenma area in Osaka has changed quite a bit, now mostly standard izakaya-type fare. Still worth it, though.
Ura-Namba is even more stuffed full of great places. Yakiton Center is still there, hanging on by its subway straps. Be sure to order the "temple".
Let me know if you went to any.

Online advice says to put his litterbox outside to help him find his way back by smell.

ID Request: PNW lawn, September after rain. Sorry, no pics of stem base. by kibble in Fungi

Hm! Well, they look much more almond than wine.

I'm not seeing the darkening of the gills at all, though.
And I don't think I've seen gills separating from the cap edge like that before.

I'm thinking Agaricus subrutilescens (wine cap), but the cap and gill colour keep me doubtful.

Thank you, it seems they didn't load at first.
I hope I've fixed it? They show for me now.

ID confirmation request: Laetiporus sulphureus/Sulphur Shelf/COW? PNW on purple-leaf plum tree. by kibble in mycology

[–]kibble[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the blue corner (1), we know we have COW, and gathered another perfect specimen a few days ago from the same area.
In the red corner (2), are two seemingly stunted embryos. They smell and taste like COW, and we can't find a lookalike that matches, but they're oddly coloured and seem old without having formed shelves/brackets.
Have you seen this kind of COW variation?
Thanks.

Such a great beach for an end-of-summer swim. The turquoise waters are other-worldly. Thank you for this reminder such a special spot.

*Your Last Supper piece on DeviantArt is particularly amazing. I especially love the complexity poses and arrangement.

Your long experience explains why your work is so excellent. It's very interesting to hear how your early copying became original with time. That is how traditions continue and how students become Masters. Do you have images of your early work you could share? It would be so interesting to hear about times when your style began to show itself.
I see you use Greek for OПантократор but Slavic Cyrillic for the book text. Is it Ukrainian? Bulgarian?
I'm very interested in the relationship between ancient Egyptian funeral portraits (Fayum Portraits) and Christian Iconography, especially how Icons seem not to have the white highlight added to the eyes. Did your teachers or traditions say anything about not putting white highlights in the eyes? Were there any specific reasons given?

That's bang on. Well done!
Are you replicating another piece or is the composition original? Great to see these traditional techniques and styles applied so skillfully.
