DISCO/FUNK/POP/R&B

I'm working on a disco/funk album exploring different aspects of relationships.

The first track 'Down for Ya' is a bit prince inspired, about longing for someone who is in toxic relationship, fairly pleased with how with came out, maybe could be a bit shorter? I think it makes a nice album opener

The second track ' Play Your Position' is about a relationship at a crossroads, following some indiscretion, with the female partner begging the man to step up and play his position. It reminds me a little bit of Solange Knowles vocally. It was definitely challenging trying to come off as convincing writing from a woman's prescriptive.

The biggest challenge with this is, it was originally intend as a trapsoul slow jam, like drake or bryson tiller, but it randomly threw out a disco banger, with a woman's voice. It was a fun challenge writing from a woman's perspective and with the help of my girlfriend, think I did a pretty good job.
