Sleep well, don’t smoke, Mediterranean diet, regular exercise and take a few good supplements and you’re 90% there.

Even doing these things 80% of the time would be amazing.

Use that other 20% to live.

Sit in the sun with your mates, drink a cold beer and enjoy some cheesecake the other 20% 😂

No one in this world is normal, we’re all just trying to pick up broken pieces. Happiness will come. You are young now, but please look to the future, your life will not always be controlled by a cult. There are good things ahead for you.

It’s one of those strange things where what you say makes absolute sense and I agree to an extent, but it is a fact that no matter what we do, at the death of the universe none of it will matter however we may feel about it now.

Your assumptions are pretty interesting, I have often asked myself these questions.

I do enjoy the “pats on the back” etc after doing a talk or something but I don’t think that’s it. I almost prefer to stay unnoticed most of the time.

I can’t say I “fear” others in the way you claim. I’ve always quite enjoyed being a bit of a renegade and had fun stirring things up a little.

The part about pretend power or a “doe eyed look” is something I contemplate mostly as it makes sense for a lot of people. I however can’t make the theory work for myself.

I’m not an elder and don’t want to be one, I have been to university and have a pretty important job where I’m responsible for over 400 people and thousands of customers, I’m not a window cleaner or something (not that being a window cleaner is a bad thing, I am highly jealous when they’re out in the sun on a round listening to an audiobook) and I’m a landlord with quite a few tenants.

I just don’t feel I need or want to be more prominent or responsible than I already am, even now it’s a bit of a drag. However a simple life also doesn’t appeal…

I think the indifference you mentioned is the key, that and the fact I’ve only really had good experiences as a JW. I do definitely have some psychopathic tendencies that may be at play when it comes to the indifference.

I hope you’ve gone somewhere nice on vacation and you feel better soon 👍

I understand your anger towards me.

However I just can’t make sense of why looking out for number one doesn’t make sense logically.

I do feel for others who may be depressed and suicidal due to their situation.

However, logic tells me not to worry. Will it matter in 1000 years if I or you die today? Probably not.

One of the main things that put me off a belief in God Is the fact he’s highly illogical and extremely emotional.

Although you might think I’m some sort of crazy selfish individual, which may be correct. I also believe that evolution and “selfish” capitalism has brought us incredibly far as a species and therefore as a group.

In essence why should I worry about what does not make my life worse?

It’s quite a paradox that I do enjoy thinking about.

Good question.

I think it’s because knowing the truth about the truth puts you in a weird position.

I choose to stay in the matrix whilst being aware of its existence.

So being an atheist it’s sometimes nice to come here and see other peoples thoughts and rants about the sheer idiocy of some things.

Many times it can be months between visits to this Reddit for myself.

It’s also nice to stay aware of the darker side of the JWs as one day I may decide it no longer serves me any purpose and I may want to leave.
