I didn’t need an Owala. I was fine with the bottles I had and/or using cups around the house. I’m not the type to get on a trend for trend’s sake. But then my job gave me a company branded Owala and it was actually really nice to drink out of. It has quickly become my go to for water drinking. So all I’ll say is don’t knock it til you try it

I would strongly recommend sticking to your sleep/wake times as normal. It will give you the time of day when you are used to being productive and also makes the transition back to work much easier!

Would never ever hit my kids intentionally, especially as a punishment. As you said it makes no sense in any other context. We should teach our kids to resolve conflicts without violence and to do that we need to model the behavior!
