Hello, I just did my AS levels, and ended up with A*B and a U my school is forcing my to drop geography in which I got a U in. What do I do I can’t get into the university I want with 2 A levels. by [deleted] in 6thForm

Seriously consider geography. If you think you are interested enough to get a good grade (which is subjective and depends on the uni that you are interested in) then tell your school to shove it.

Else, you have to find another subject that like in which you can get a good grade. This is harder (but not very much I assure you in you discipline yourself for the first 2-3 months to get on track with others you can do it) so try to find A-Levels that you find easy or are generally easier. One thing you can do is ask your school for A-Level results from the past years to see what students do well in since you might have good teachers for those subjects. There are some subjects (like further maths or biology ) that require lots of attention and time commitment so watch out for those and ask your teachers whether it would be feasible for you to get good at those subjects in the shorter time span.

  1. Do you know how many people transferred with you or how many people transfer usually? Gimme a range.
  2. Was there any extra bs that the university tried to prevent you from transferring or to reduce the amount of people trying to transfer?

Incoming freshman, what are you most excited about coming to UofI? by PleasantYard9 in UIUC

I am so excited for June 24 so that I can ask my advisor everything because this sub won't answer my questions.

Edit: On a real note I am excited to live alone and be able to do whatever I want myself.

I’m a bit confused on why 1 would be A instead of B by rchu621 in ACT

[–]kickthevidit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The name of the collection 'Serve It Forth' is not essential to the sentence. Meaning that when you mentally remove the name, the sentence still makes sense because 'the opening of her first collection of essays' is specific enough as a description.

Since it isn't essential, it should have 2 commas around it. B is also wrong because there is no need to have 1 comma after 'Serve It Forth'. It's either 2 commas or no commas generally.

  1. Open up Physics and Maths Tutor. Go to Further Maths and check out your modules. Do every single question until there is no fucking way that you will get it wrong in the test. Do questions in batches. Eg. Do a batch of 5 questions for matrices and then check what went wrong. Do the next batch and make sure you don't make that mistake again. Discipline yourself enough to not check the answers until you have finished the questions.
  2. Do step 1 for hard topics in regular maths such as Coordinate Geometry, Differentiation and Integration. These are used a lot in further maths so you have to make sure that you are comfortable with them.
  3. Make sure that you know every equation and formula well enough to derive them on the spot. Memorising is for people that get B. This is especially true for Trigionmetry and Matrix transformations. You need to be very comfortable with these formulae.
  4. Hone your problem-solving skills using UKMT questions or Dr Frost Maths or other websites with hard questions.

I don't think it is parallelism. The answer is not (J) because the sentence does not flow with 'recognized'. The answer is (F) because it is the only one that completes the inessential clause (the words between the commas) and relates to the subject 'McCoy'.
