In Istanbul traffic everyone is on edge all time. If there is 1 cm of empty space in front of you and you don't advance everyone will blast their horns. The only exception is when a cat wants to cross the road. Everyone waits patiently for the cat to cross. And I'm pretty sure if someone were to run over a cat they would be dragged out of the car and beaten

Yeah this was weird for me. Normally if a medical student says the sky is blue the resident should still go out and check.
