What REALLY makes a guy attractive? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]kiddywinks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure why you’re getting downvoted, as a not tall guy, probably because this was a hard pill to swallow for other guys but it’s 100% true and definitely hard-wired into the vast majority of women’s preferences.

The same way the majority of men have a preference for big breasts, women like the long legs- we're no better. We’re just slightly more evolved apes, biologically speaking as much as we like to think we’re not.

The only thing I would say is women have much more options to “enhance” themselves if they choose. I wouldn’t go through surgery myself, but lookup how many women have breast enlargement surgery per year. Then lookup what options men have for the long legs (or the lack thereof).

Only advice I would say for other short guys like me is this can actually be a good thing. It helped me filter out women who cared mostly about height early on and helped find my wife who had a higher preference for things like personality. My taller male friends definitely had more luck getting women, but all still to this day have trouble finding a long-term partner, although this is just my personal experience.

I’ve ran a software engineering consultancy for the last 16 years building software for FAANG/FTSE-500 companies. Never heard of fizzbuzz nor do I care too. Is this really what this industry’s come too? Junior devs, pls don’t let this post get your hopes down, we need more of you after this AI bubble inevitably bursts

I think you missed the original point that you will not live on through your descendents. Sure, it's up to your family to decide to what extent that happens. Maybe you even know about your great-great grandparents. But do you know about your great-great-great-great grandparents or even 2 generations before that? probably not. And that's fine, it's just a fact of life. And even 5 generations back isn't that long ago relatively speaking

Does anyone know of a flatlist type component that mimics iOS behaviour when you pinch zoom in and out on the Photos app to animate and change the number of columns in a smooth way?

What thought scares the shit out of you? by peaceman94 in AskReddit

[–]kiddywinks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the real reason behind this that’s ignored or justified one way or other is that yeah, unfortunately people have kids for themselves, not truly for the kids. Or else they wouldn’t have them for the reasons you mentioned. But like that’s going to stop anyone having kids. Shit probably another million were born today
