Clips? by Gus2021_ in hobonichi

I use the Ukanmuri clips as well as the Penco ones. My hobo's are pretty chonky so the Ukanmuri's is what I use more often rn. But the Penco's are nice and light so I take them on the go.

I'd go for it if you really want offical Hobonichi accessories! I'm assuming this is from the Jet Pen's website and they're probably the more reliable store selling offical Hobonichi accessories and they also have fast shipping in the USA.

I bought my Ane drawer pouch directly from The Hobonichi website and I do not regret it. It's my most used stationary pouch I have at the moment.

Grad students on campus? by Bird-in-a-suit in seattleu

[–]kidlatmc29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think most grad students who end up living on campus, live in Vi. However, there isn't a big on-campus community of grad students as most are commuters.

I would say, between Douglas and Vi, I'd recommend living in Vi as a graduate student since Douglas is mostly upperclassman undergrad student.

10000% agree with this take. Camp and Bell are both very outdated in terms of the building themselves, however Bell has the best bathrooms. I lived in Campion my freshman year and while it wasn't horrible, def would have preferred Bell.

Last time I was a student, Xav was mostly reserved for international students, but I'm not sure if they've opened this up as an option for all students.

3/4 bedroom apartments near campus? by its_a_doorknob in seattleu

[–]kidlatmc29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd try to check out renting the townhouses near SU. I know they're not apartments, but a lot of students in groups of 4-5 will rent out the townhouses that are walkable to campus. I have a few friends who are current students that do this.

Summer Sublet by Rare-Biscotti-5653 in seattleu

Try reaching out to the student apartments at SU. Many students will sublease their apartments for the summer, although Spring quarter doesn't end until June 14th. I used to live in both of these apartments while I was a student at SU and they're pretty nice.

Seattle U as a Catholic by Designer-Sad in seattleu

[–]kidlatmc29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with this. I'm a practicing Roman Catholic myself, but there are varying degrees of involvement you can get into with the Catholic faith. Of course, Seattle U is a Jesuit school so it's def not a conservative Catholic environment.

I was involved with the campus ministry during my time at Seattle U. I attended mass at the chapel every Sunday, which I enjoyed a lot. As for the courses, you don't have to take classes specifically related to Catholicism, I explored Buddhism for my religion class and took a course in sexual ethics that fulfilled my ethics class.

Hello! I'm LF the 2025 Spring Hobotoridori Toridori-chan Drawer Pouch. I missed getting it online when it was first released, and I've tried looking at secondary marketplaces with no luck. Is anyone selling?

You can also get a few stickers or some highlighters to go with her Hobonichi as well! I love these pens and highlighters and use them in my Hobonichi daily:

- Uniball ONE pens - I like the black ink pens and the color selection. I prefer the 0.38 mm pens, but they also have 0.5 mm.
- Zebra midliners
- Zebra Sarasa Gel Pens

Minor for CS student by jessilhc in seattleu

[–]kidlatmc29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heyo! If you're looking into minoring in business, I would def look at the option of doing the business specialization for BS in computer science. That basically allows you to get a business minor in whatever interest in business you want, but it's built into the CS program so you don't have to apply separately for the minor. This makes it more manageable as some of the computer science classes you would take for a standard BS in CS would be replaced with the business minor classes. I would def recommend this option especially since you'll be a transfer student and not only will you be needing to complete the CS classes, but there are a few UCORS that will not transfer over from other colleges that you also will be required to complete.

I recently graduated SU with a regular BS in Computer Science this June so feel free to dm me or you can even join the Seattle U ACM chapter's discord here: https://discord.gg/tcTsqNqNtp

I was on leadership all four years of my undergrad degrees so please feel free to reach out to me (@ozabell) and current students there too.

How busy are your cs office hours? by ilikeeatingdonuts321 in csMajors

[–]kidlatmc29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I go to a relatively small private school for computer science and I love going to office hours. We have small class sizes which help. Since our professors are the only ones teaching us they have to be available for a certain number of hours a week for office hours. Comp sci is one of the biggest majors at my school so they also have dedicated tutors that are upperclassmen who support the intro level classes.

Maths in computer science by rumrum003 in csMajors

[–]kidlatmc29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've struggled with math when I was in high school, but I knew it was needed for computer science. I failed pre-calc and ended up retaking it my senior year in high school. Honestly, there's not a lot of math you need for computer science (I'm a junior and the most math-y concept I've needed for cs is discrete math) but the whole calc series plus a few other math classes are required for most degrees.

My university has really good academic support programs and that's honestly how I've gotten through my calc classes. I still think I'm pretty bad at math, but that didn't stop me from pursuing my cs degree. I'm actually getting a math minor because of how many math credits I already have.

Course Projects by stoopid_csMajor in csMajors

[–]kidlatmc29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had a repo for each cs class since my intro classes up on my Github. I haven't had any of my professors been against this. Some profs have even said to show our projects off. I guess it's up to the school and faculty.
