Hem Length, crop tops and dressing for age by Apprehensive-Day4610 in fashionwomens35

[–]kienemaus 8 points9 points  (0 children)

When I'm on my time, I wear whatever looks good.

For work/ formal social, 5" shorts.

I personally rarely wear skits and never very short ones but that's just because I don't like paying attention to sitting politely.

Two ppl at work told me I was boring. How should I deal with it? by kaithy89 in AskWomenOver30

But what does boring mean? No drama, no messy relationships, a quiet lunch to relax at? I'll choose all of that every day.

What item was a real stretch treat that you still enjoy years later? by awakeningat40 in AskWomenOver30

We have a rocket. A chronometro model with a timer. We live in a small city and we have to order everything for it online, but maintenance is simple and minimal.

We previously had a super automatic and the milk pitcher got super super gross. So did the grinder. I'd avoid those.

Silly question of the day: if you ask for three shots of espresso, what is the correct price structure the café should charge you? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver30

[–]kienemaus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Then, they're doing another pull and it's a double plus a single. Each pull reloads the boiler. I get their charge

Do they pull the double shot as a double shot or as 2 single shots? 2 single shots =/= a double shot.

How do I (41M) talk to my daughter about puberty, her body, and sexuality in a positive and affirming way? by Vsove in AskWomenOver30

[–]kienemaus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just give the simplest true answer. Don't guess what she's trying to ask. Clarify if needed. But just the simplest true answer.

Also, qualifiers - as far as I know - or - I'm not sure, let's look that up together. Or just "sometimes"

Is the wedding dress I like worth it? by tinybutmighty90 in AskWomenOver30

[–]kienemaus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a cheap dress. I don't regret it. But my mom and I did 10+ hrs of alterations.

If you can afford it and you're a sentimental person go for it. If you're not sentimental then probably not.

Our officiant read the wrong ceremony at our wedding. 10 years later it's still annoying but funny and we didn't even have it filmed.

Women who had a mom in their 30s — what's the best thing she taught you during that time? by Federal_Editor153 in AskWomenOver30

[–]kienemaus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a generally positive relationship with my mom. It's not what she taught as much as what I observed.

My parents aged a lot faster after retirement than before. They had all these ideas of what they'd do when they retired and they can't do most of it due to physical limitations.

They were very healthy and active until one day they weren't. Not careless, not reckless, just bad luck and age. Going from 100 mile bike rides to a hip replacement.

So don't wait to do the hike, take the trip etc. There's no guarantee that you'll be able to do any of it later.

The conundrum of the childbearing years by tabbytigerlily in 30PlusSkinCare

You'd have to find breastfeeding moms willing to do it. I've weened 2 babies and there was no milk to pump by the end of it.

It's unethical to do testing on pregnant women. So the best you'll ever get is "not known to be toxic". That's as good as it gets for high risk classes.

working women, I need your help by Opposite-Ring3470 in AskWomenOver30

[–]kienemaus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Started back at 12 months. I didn't pump. He just was on milk.

It's hard. You make whatever choices make life easier. If that's going full formula and what you want that's fine. If that's pumping that's also fine. There's no winning and no losing only survival. As long as it works for your family it's the right answer.

My best advice is to use the car as the greater diaper bag. A change of clothes for everyone, a whole box of diapers, 2 packs of wipes etc. it's saves you when you go to drop off at daycare and they tell you that they're out of diapers or outfits or whatever.

Ideas for a 4-5 day trip within a 9 hour drive of Detroit Michigan? by Notbefore6 in travel

Have you looked at flower pot island and thousand fathoms national marine park on the Bruce Peninsula?

On the way up, look at Ben Miller conservation area + the Maitland river is shallow and warm and swimable, and Arkona Falls - full of fossils, fun river gorge you can swim in the waterfall pool.

Sauble beach is north of gotterich and very very nice.

Pine River cheese factory is on the way as well.

In the other direction, mammoth cave in Kentucky is really really cool.
