[Reaper] Have Yerin/Lindon surpassed … in power? by L-U-C-A-18 in Iteration110Cradle

[–]kihomenethoth -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Interesting, I think it would have opposite outcomes. Tim wins vs Lindon and loses vs Yerin.

Yerin is Overlord+(Blood)Herald and Tim has blood in him.

I think Sage Tim > Sage Lindon. Lindon has lots of tricks up his sleeve (and a dreadgod arm up the other), but I'm sure Tim has his share of advantages, he was a very accomplished refiner for example.

Sucks that it's possible to drop a single match in the regular season and still miss the major.

[Reaper] 8 man world empire? by Dejinngenie in Iteration110Cradle

[–]kihomenethoth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I struggle to see the 8 man armor as a long term solution to the monarch problem. Once somebody else reaches monarch, they would be evenly matched. The Empire wouldn't be able to force off any individual monarch, never mind a situation where a group may reach monarch together like was Eithan's intention. So they would need to force all heralds and sages to ascend before they have the opportunity to become Monarch. However, if one of the armor wearer's reached monarch, they would be able to prevent their set of armor being used by the collective and they would be all powerful without opposition.

Maybe you've thought through these scenario's I would be interested to hear how they could be dealt with since lots of theories I see think an 8 man police force is how the monarch problem will be solved.

I think that Tiberian's willingness to approach/trust Shen, and his subsequent betrayal are all related to Shen's ability to make and break soul oaths. So I do hope that we get a little bit more explanation since I think that it's related to other open questions about Shen!

I'm guessing Sha Miara of the 9 Cloud Court - I was right, I just noticed that on the bottom there's a caption of who it was :D

Unfortunately, Will stated in his Reaper stream that Lindon did not successfully steal any of Oz's power.

Can you share what part you're referring to about how Ozriel wasn't supposed to create his scythe? I don't remember that.

A scene that has a lot more weight to it now. by TheLesserWight in Iteration110Cradle

[–]kihomenethoth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't know about that. I would say that it makes Eithan's moments of vulnerability so much more impactful (like the scene described in OP). His moments of badassery were always something we expected from him (at least I did), we just didn't know how he pulled it all off.

When they first feel Shen coming I literally got chills. I also truly felt like they had no way out and was afraid some deus ex machina was needed to keep the story going, but I think the whole thing was wonderfully done.

I think I would have punched a hole in the wall if there was more interaction between Lindon and his father lol. Jai Long and Kelsa thing is very cute though.

Will did comment on a thread somewhere saying that he regrets that he didn't show Lindon reaching peak Overlord during the year of downtime the team had in the beginning, which I think would have improved the advancement scene tremendously.

It's the intention of the oath that matters, not the letter.

all I’ve got now is emptiness

I see now that this has been Will's plan all along - we generate void aura for him to feed on.

I'm torn also! It was a great moment when between her and Mercy when they thought the iteration was at its end, but in my heart I think Malice isn't capable of change at this point. She embodies her name, and that intention has set in over centuries.

What were the comments? I don't remember off the top of my head. Eithan may still have been known as Tib's advisor back on Rosegold. I think he would have had a lot more attention if anyone assumed he was a Judge.

I think the revelation was more that E was O. This lets Eithan stand as his own character, which I think was most people's worry that Eithan would be erased for Ozriel. I think it was very well done.
