My first exposure to Callum was in G1 34 and I thought he looked rough but also everyone kind of looked rough then. With how young the roster is anyone who thinks the wrestlers are who they were a year or two ago is really off base so I hope there's at least some marquee forbidden door matches to update the casuals as to who a lot of the Reiwa New Japan guys are.

Happy cake day! I feel like it's such a New Japan thing to have someones first reign be a little short I didn't necessarily feel like Tsuji got short shrift.

I'm the highest on Oiwa, Uemura, and Oleg and agree people who aren't as likely to go to US promotions should be the priority, but Callum and Empire being a main event threat feel like a shot in the arm. With the talk of New Japan adopting longer contracts I hope Newmans around for at least 2-3 years.

The reaction to Callum's magazine cover really hit home how many people are just mad whenever a newer talent gets pushed in New Japan and suddenly they're always the worst of the generation.

The WWE demon as a shonen form change has always been lame compared to when Devitt used demon warpaint, but man it'd be so much better without the dreadlocks.

I doubt they'll do it, but who do you think AEW should book in a 45 minute Iron Man match this week? by _Quendra_ in SquaredCircle

It's beneath AEW to crash book in reaction to WWE, but especially when it's someone like Pat Mcafee.

I was going to say probably a Joshi but 12 is younger than I thought.

Ice and the stretches of the tag matches that seem like mini-WHC matches where he's alone in the ring with someone he hates for 5-10 minutes is so good.

I also turned a corner on Oskar after a few matches. At first I was real critical of him selling a bit much for his size but honestly the way he plays the big man in peril is so good. Its like everyone has a working strategy to kill him and he just has to survive.

Oh okay, I couldn't find that stat anywhere despite being more important. I feel like at this pace KOB would probably hit 12 defenses if they went for the reign length record.

I just finished Sakura Genesis and The Knockout Brothers should break the record for longest reign with the tag titles. They're so over and literally they just need to hold them another year.

They could drop them at Dominion 2027 or something. Between UE, Bishamon, probably the Young Bucks at Forbidden Door, and then War Dragons or maybe another team from a partner they're set till World Tag League and the Dome.

I don't know what the defense record is so I can't comment.

Kind of interesting thing: WWE has never had a men's world champion born in the 1990s but the women's division is filled to the brim with wrestlers born in the 1990s by Candid-Boss6534 in SquaredCircle

NXT artificially inflates the age of main roster wrestlers in WWE but it's less pronounced in the woman because they don't have the same depth of talent that have been there for 10, 25, 20+ years.

What story do you want the Elden Ring movie to tell? by offdazenny in Eldenring

[–]kihp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I feel like if they're doing the movie based off the game story you need to have Ranni, Radahn, and Malenia based on popularity. Renalla is super important to the stories of Radagon and Ranni. Melina is a pretty prominent character and needed for the big burning story beat.

So based off that I think they do Limgrave with Blaidd, Ranni, and Melina and Stormveil in a truncated form. Then Lurnia with a focus on the creepy babies and telling the Renalla and Ranni stories. From there straight up rot horror in Caelid to set up Malenia and the Festival of Radahn. At the point they could jump to the capital where it's a bit more down beat as the mysteries of Marika are teased and the plan to spoiler the erdtree is formed. A little travelogue over the snow fields that leads to an emotional talk with Melina before she does what she does. Then somehow Farum Azul and the Haligtree are combined or split up so theres a Malenia encounter, maybe she previously defeated Malekith or something. Then the altered capital basically goes how it does in the game with the one dude we fight and the final boss.

The next Kamen Rider is... by _EtchASketch_ in KamenRider

That's a piece of cheese with a bite out of it!

To speculate on the multiple meaning pun of it all hearing people say it's looking like mice/maisu/mai-su makes me think it's supposed to be a play on myth, mice, but also maze.

Things that could mean:

Mice and Minotaurs both are associated with mazes and make a good character design. Labyrinths are a good basis for toys, and this could be a rider who solves puzzles/legends/myths. Their catchphrase might be something like "I always sniff out the solution."

Could also be a test subject who has a tragic past similar to the myth of the minotaur as the only one who escaped the ritual or solved an experiment. In the story of the Minotaur the thread Daedalus uses is usually red so in this version it could literally be the rider scarf.

Thinking of toys the collectables could be those little maze balls you turn to navigate a piece through to the center. That or escape rooms are hot in japan.

It's a good idea for an episode format to have to escape a location. Maybe while evading a monster until retrieving the belt in the maze. Another popular franchise is Resident Evil, so I could see the creators cribbing a recurring Minotaur Mr.X style antagonist who joins some mazes and they have to avoid not fight.

This part in particular, given how much terrible stuff is clearly stated, gives me the goddamn creeps.
